The pattern is very elegant and makes a statement on the table.

I like that this plate is not too large. It's just right for a modest size meal and does not encourage diners to overeat. I also really like that its shape is perfect for washing by hand. It's easy to grip, even when wet and sudsy, so I'm not afraid of dropping it the whole time I'm washing.

I do love these plates! They are a true cobalt blue on a soft, clean, white background. The sprigs look hand painted and delicate. Because it is understated, this pattern mixes beautifully with modern or antique blue and white of any pattern or style. I love the look of a mismatched blue and white table setting, and this is the perfect base pattern to tie the styles together. It has a very expensive look and feel, lovely quality. I plan on collecting additional pieces for years to come!

After 20 years of using cheap dinnerware while our kids were growing up, the time was finally right for me to purchase something nicer. I spent days searching in stores and online for a traditional dinnerware pattern, but wasn't finding anything "just right". Then I came across the Old Luxembourg pattern, and it was exactly what I wanted. So far, they seem quite durable, we use them every day. And, we do put them in the dishwasher and microwave. I did measure my old plates and bowls before ordering these, they're made in Germany and Europeans use smaller plates than Americans. I love being able to purchase by the piece, so I don't have to pay for items I don't need, like cups and saucers. I purchased 10 dinner plates, 10 salad plates, and 8 rice bowls to use for cereal or soup. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for great quality, traditional style dinnerware, either for daily use or special occasions.

It is refreshing to know if I break one it could be replaced but the thing I like most about Vieux (Old) Luxembourg, it is highly resistant to silverware scratches. It is truly a product I can use for every occasion.

The line along the perimeter of the plates was improperly placed. It was inside the edge along the top surface. As a result, they do not match the rest of my set and give the appearance of being less delicate.

I ordered this as a gift. The e-mail communication was nice, but not needed as it arrived quickly. It was well packaged and in perfect condition. The receiver of the plate was very happy.

The dishes arrived with not a scratch or chip - extremely well packed.
