Disappointed. It connected at first to the Wi-Fi then lost connection. Several hours trying to sort this out the sound bar for no apparent reason flashed up a red light. Then it became unresponsive. Sent it back to Bose for refund. I’m now looking at the 900 sound bar instead.

Bought this a couple of weeks ago and its fantastic! Excellent sound quality and bass (even without surround or bass module), easy to install and connects easily to apple play. 👌🏻 love it!

Brilliant sound and can also be used to stream too and fantastic. I replaced my bose mono TV speaker. Well worth it. Setup wasnt working, but a reboot fixed it👍

Set this up with a 700 bass module today; easy to do and sounds great.

This is excellent quality and I have been really impressed. I also ordered the BASS Module 700 but actually didn't need it as the bass from the Soundbar is superb, so sent it back. Easy to set up and the APP allows you to control the TV and Sky Box with one button.

I picked this up yesterday along with the 500 sub. You can use either the 500 or the 700 sub with this soundbar. The 500 sub does not have the glass top but cosmetically matches the sound bar. Unless you have a massive room and good neighbours the sub 500 is more than adequate!

Setup was ok and took about an hour. The soundbar needed to update its software / firmware and started to do so as soon as it was connect to the network. The app was easy to download but it would not connect to the soundbar until it had updated. Also, once the app connects it goes through another update. It’s worth knowing this, it does say in the instructions but being male I didn’t read them.

Once all updated you need to go through a quick process of setting the sound. This is automated and the app talks you through it. You wear a little headset, this comes in the box, and move around to your normal seating positions whilst it calibrates. I am currently using the optical connection again this is supplied.

The optional sub just plugs into a wall socket and you use the app to connect it. Once it’s setup you can unplug the sub and move it about and it automatically connect on its own.

The sound from the soundbar is very impressive and I would be quite happy to use without the sub. It has punch bass and a very wide sound stage without sounding as if the sound has been digital changed. A very nice feature and one that I have not had on a Bose product before, I have owned many over the years, is you can adjust the bass and treble and center sound via the app.

Combined with the 500 sub this is amazing! Property far to much for my medium sized front room but the sound stays good at all volume levels. Bose have always been very clever at keeping the correct level of bass at lower volumes and this product is no different.

Once last point is that the soundbar has Alexa built in. The setup process for this was relatively straight forward and all Alexa features work on it. In fact the response is much better than my amazon dot and echo. Even with music in at a high volume the soundbar hears the Alexa wake word. I am normall screaming Alexa at my echos but this really does work better.

It’s not the cheapest but it sounds amazing and looks lovely. You don’t buy this sort of equipment very often so I would advise really considering spending the bit extra and being happy with this for many years to come.
