My new trimmer is SO much better than my old one, which mysteriously stopped working. The old one was battery powered, the new one is rechargeable. The old one had six cutting heights, the new one so many more. Phillips have got it right.

I bought this to replace an older model, but I don't feel that this one seems to trim as well as the older one.

Because of its multiple features and design elements, there are several gaps and openings where hair can easily get trapped, making maintenance more difficult than expected.

That said, the trimmer has many positive qualities. It is lightweight and operates very quietly. The blade is extremely sharp, which is understandable for a new device, but extra care is recommended during the first uses, as it can easily nick sensitive areas such as the lips. The battery life is impressive, and charging is both quick and convenient.

A huge improvement would be for the blade to be bigger, wider, to cover more surface. This particular trimmer has 25% less blad than my previous trimmer. As a result, it takes longer to trim all facial hair.

More detailed guidance on proper use and maintenance would help prevent damage and improve the overall experience. Overall, this is a good trimmer, and with a few improvements in the next generation, it could be excellent.

Brilliant - does exactly what is needed at a great price

I’m really impressed, the curved edge on the in the trimmer actually makes a real difference around the contours of the jaw near the ear. The trimmer is really comfy in hand and initial thoughts are that one charge will last months for the average person who time a couple of times a week. I have a full beard and trim to grade 2-3 dependant on my mood 😂 but not sure how it would do if I was to shave it off but I guess the clues in the name “trimmer” if I was to shave it off I’d use a razor. The amount of length settings is crazy really but it’s far better to have lots of settings than half a dozen. In all honesty it totally trumps the beard trimmer I already had and I can’t really find any negatives to say about it

A fantastic feature is the ability to adjust the trimming length with the built-in roller. The ability to wash it under water is a plus. Perfect for use at home and on the go.

The Philips BT3615 is a surprisingly capable trimmer that delivers excellent cutting performance in a lightweight, easy‑to‑handle package. Once you get past a few design quirks, it becomes a genuinely impressive grooming tool.

Pros

• Very easy to handle – its light weight makes it comfortable to manoeuvre, even during longer grooming sessions.
• Cuts amazingly well – the blades are sharp, consistent, and deliver a very clean finish.

Cons

• Uses a bespoke Philips charging lead – a standard USB‑A to USB‑C setup would be far more convenient, especially when travelling. The proprietary cable means carrying an extra lead unnecessarily.
• Cuts very short at the smallest setting – great for precision, but you need to be careful to avoid going shorter than intended.
• Comb attachment is difficult to remove – it requires more force and fiddling than expected.

Overall

Despite the frustrations—mainly the proprietary charger, the tricky comb removal, and the lack of a carry case—the BT3615 shines where it matters most: cutting performance and handling. With a generic USB‑C charging option and a simple carry pouch, this could easily be the best trimmer I’ve ever used. As it stands, once you overcome the initial quirks, it’s still an excellent grooming tool

Taking it out of the box I really liked the colour combination of the beard trimmer but was surprised at how simple it seemed with a charger and instructions. I later went on to realise, that was all I needed to get a fantastic trim.

I started with reading the instructions and then charging the beard trimmer.

Once I was ready to use it, I simply adjusted the guard to my right setting which was super easy to do and i was good to go. I’ve always had a problem with corded trimmers as they get in the way and found that being cordless made it so easy to use.

I was so happy with how smoothly it glided through the stubble. I have had previous expensive brands that have snagged and tugged at the stubble when cutting and this was effortless.

I have charged this once in 3 weeks so it has great battery life and is powerful with little effort needed.

I would definitely recommend this beard trimmer and have nothing but good feedback.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Series 3000 Beard Trimmer is a great little product for those guys who want things easy, simple and straightforward. One button to turn it on or off and one dial to determine the length you want to trim down to.....it's as easy as that.

It's an ideal size, good for the bearded traveller, as it won't take up much space in the washbag. Not too small and fiddly so you can get your hand around it and not too big and cumbersome so you can actually see what you're doing.

The battery is long-lasting and the motor has ample power to get into the thickest of beards.

My only bugbear is it wouldn't trim around the Adam's Apple due to the angles but a little stretching of the neck sorted that out.

So all in all, very happy with the product and will be in my washbag whenever I'm on my travels.

Charges quickly from USB, holds charge for weeks. Trims neatly and consistently, with the comb off it's nice and short. Easy spinner for selecting length, though it loses a point for only having one comb doing short lengths up to 10mm

I found that this is better than my Gillette beard trimmer too. This is that good it could probably shave your head. When using it I found I didn't have to re do as many attempts over previous areas shaved like other trimmers. 10/10 amazing item

It charges fast, is dead easy to use, and the battery lasts a long time so I’m not constantly thinking about plugging it in. Purchased BT3234/15, after 5 months the trimmer refused to turn on.

Troubleshooted per Phillips instructions but no success. Unfortunately, Live chat was only form on Contact, and was completely steered away from issues to fix device.

RUBBISH stopped working after 2 months. I only use it once a week as well and just died.

After 3 months of use, 2/3 times a week the blades became noticeably blunt. Not impressed, will go back Wahl.
