Since apple makes you get an adapter by having too little ports, this is about as nice as it gets.
Its is expensive, yes, but looks nice, and works well.
Home setup now with power going into the adapter, hdmi display coming off it and 2 extra usb ports for phone/disks/controler.
So no need for a docking station, and in that sense worth the money
