This iron was very disappointing it replaced a faulty iron which was no longer available and came direct from the manufacturer who sent it to me in exchange. I had no problem with the exchange but I believe the replacement was not nearly as effective as the one I returned in spite of it's faults. I am sorry but I would not recommend this iron as it is not up to the job. I have had this type of iron before and found them to be very very good.

This iron does not get hot enough to decrease cotton bedding.

Have to revert to old iron to do the job

Trying to iron cotton sheets is a real workout. Insufficient steam, takes forever and the overall result is extremely disappointing. Avoid and do not buy.

I'm 60 and so have been ironing with steam irons for years.

This (Philips PerfectCare Steam iron GC3920/26) is the first one I have tried that uses the OptimalTEMP technology. It is so much better than anything I have used before. The soleplate is always at the lower temperature you'll ever need because the steam is generated by a device inside the iron rather than using the heat of the soleplate itself. This means there is no need to fiddle with dials or wait for temperature adjustments and I imagine the soleplate is no longer going to get gunged up with burnt on material (from residual low temp fibres on high temp clothes).

It is light and easy to use and comes with a really long flex.

I was unsure when I bought it - took a risk - I am so glad I did.

I am astounded that it has taken so long to come up with this new approach to steam irons - perhaps it is hard to make or perhaps, like so many simple ideas, it needed a fresh look from a new mind in the business.

This iron was excellent no need to sort washing it ironed all fabrics using its soleplate technology Up until it started leaking from the controls I was happy with it contacted Philips as the guarantee was still in the 2 year guarantee and they exchanged it for equivalent as not got my model I have used this one but the lead is not very long and I did ask if it was the same length they said yes but it wasn't my other iron was excellent as the lead was really long and as I have a plug that's a bit away from my board this was essential to me but just have to cope with the very short lead otherwise think its the same only used it twice so cant really comment yet on that

I got this iron as a second replacement for the one I'm using. I like this iron very much as it takes the hard work of regulating the temperature of each clothes ironed by doing it for you. Love it

Does what an iron does. Impressed that Ican iron delicates without singeing . However when ironing dry cottons doesn’t press out all the creases especially in jeans shirts and tshirts and have to spend more time to try iron them outeven on maximum steam setting.

I've got to be honest I didn't know whether it would work as advertised but having seen mainly positive reviews I took the plunge and I have to say having just completed the first batch of ironing with it I'm glad to say that it does as it says on the tin. Ironed a variety of fabrics without any issue. I don't understand some of the comments about the blue light being too bright, some people must have really sensitive eyes for the light to be any cause for concern or they are just exaggerating but overall I have absolutely no complaints about this iron.

We actually bought this on impulse without realising it had OptimalTEMP technology but it really does works!! No damaged clothes or burnt soleplate!

I needed to replace a good iron, so far this iron has exceed all expectations. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Very impressed with this iron. The fact that it adjusts the temperature according to what you’re ironing is extremely clever. Would recommend highly.

This is the best iron that I have bought in ages. The weight is good and the flex is really long again-Hurrah! Was a bit wary like others with no temperature dial but it works really well. To top it all, it is a very nice blue colour.
