I bought an M5 18 months ago, having used Canon DSLRs for 20 years. I have no complaints about image quality; A3 prints of hand-held indoor pictures at 1600ASA show great detail, no camera shake and minimal grain.

The problem is handling. When responding to a photo opportunity, the extra second or two to operate the unlock slider on the 15-45 lens (and remember to do it) seems like ages. As an 80kg European man with normal size hands, the buttons on the back are fiddly and it is very easy to operate them with the base of the right thumb just by holding the camera. Having taken any number of unintentional videos, I reprogrammed as many as possible to do nothing important. And having three rotary controls on the right hand side of the top panel is not intuitive.

For action pictures of children, musicians, birds etc. I much prefer to use my 70D with a 15-85 or 70-200mm zoom. But as a camera for "city break" holidays, mountain walks, posed portraits and other reasonably static subjects, the M5 is perfect.

This camera is exactly what i was looking for. It gives you the versatility needed for many different situations with the ability to be able to swap out lenses, whilst providing the assurance and reliability of the Canon brand that has always been loved and admired for generations past. Whatever you are looking for they can provide for. There's a beautiful simplicity about their products that allows for a seamless and thoroughly enjoyable experience every time. I can definitely say that my photography journey has just begun and i'm very excited to see where it takes me.

Bought product two months ago and still exploring use

Erittäin kätevä, helppokäyttöinen ja kompakti kamera, jolla saa laadukkaat kuvat.

Bought this camera after reading that it was Canon's flagship mirror-less. My only issues are the dial to change modes requires you hold the centre down thus meaning you need two hands. I,m used to the simplicity of this feature on their SLR's so would expect the same standard. Other than that photos are amazing a bit. and i love the small package which makes it a good option to carry around more than my SLR.

Suosittelen, jos innostusta panostaa kuvaamiseen. Hyvät ominaisuudet, pieni kokoisiin käsiin sopiva ja kevyt. Ei ehkä niinkään hyvä suurille käsille. Kosketusnäyttö loistava, ja näytöllä todella hyvä laatuinen kuva, joka näyttää laadultaan samalta myös tietokoneen ruudulla. Miinuksena se, että jos unohtuu wifi tai bluetooth päälle, syö kyllä akun nopeasti tyhjäksi. Muuten todella hyvä akun kesto. Näytössä se huono puoli, kun kääntyy alaspäin ja kamerajalustassa on näkyvyys näyttöön huono. Plussaa luovasta kuvaustilasta kun voi säätää eloisuutta yms kuvaus into isellä kasvoi tämän kameran myötä!
