I had been thinking of getting in to the Philips Hue range for a while now, considering its integration with Google Home (which I love!), so finally plumped for this pendant lamp.

I think it looks great, very understated, and the Dimmer that's included is very good. The 4 light 'recipes' can be cycled through Relax, Read, Energise and Concentrate or simply switched on, off, or dimmed up and down.

The Easy of Use rating applies solely to the installation - being Hue the normal usage is a doddle.

However, the screws on the internal cable clamp are dreadful - I came close to returning the product before even getting it on the ceiling!

The screws fitted are the 'Torq' style anti-tamper screws - quite ridiculous. I do have a set of these, so that shouldn't have been a problem, but I would think most people don't - the manual suggests they are Philips cross-headed screws.

However, the screw heads were soft, and quickly stripped, so the Torq driver simply rotated in the head - quite useless.

I got the screws out with a pair of pliers, and replaced them with M3 x20mm standard machine screws (the ones supplied were also too short, really - they made it very difficult to get the cord in the clamp loose enough while staying together. I know, because I initially replaced them with M3 x 10mm before giving up in frustration and buying some longer screws!)

So a great product, let down by a shoddy internal clamp - stupid really: somebody at Philips must look into this

Kuten kaikissa kattolampuissa, tässäkään ei ole millään tavalla otettu huomioon sitä että lamppua ei todennäköisesti asenneta suoraan kiinni sokeripalaan/töpseliin. Mutta liitäntää peittävän muovikuvun surkea magneettikiinnitys vaikeuttaa siistiä asennusta normaalia enemmän. Kupu ei pysy paikallaan jos sisällä on yhtään johtoa.

Valoteho on uutena hyvä. Tilanne voi muuttua muutaman vuoden kuluessa, koska ledit yleensä himmenevät nopeasti. Valon luonne on miellyttävän pehmeä ja väri on helppo säätää mieleiseksi. Lamppu ei toimi parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla jos se ei oleosa suurempaa HUE-järjestelmää ja kaikkeen tarkempaan säätöön vaaditaan erikseen myytävä HUE bridge.

Valaisin ei ole mikään näyttävin design lamppu, mutta yksinkertaisen kaunis ja täydellinen käyttöön jos haluat voida muokata lamppusi valaisutehoa ja valon lämpöä (lämpimän valkoisen ja kylmän valkoisen välillä). Täydellinen esim sellaiseen huoneeseen jossa haluat vaihdella tunnelmavalaistuksen ja paremman valaistuksen välillä helposti. Nämä säätöominaisuudet onnistuu hyvin tällä valaisimella ja sen kaukosäätimellä vaikka et liitä lamppua siihen hue järjestelmään joka vaatii sen lisäosan hankkimista tässä lampussa. Suosittelen kyllä lämpimästi vaikka varoitan varaamaan aikaa ja hermoja asennukseen koska valaisin ei ole mikään helppo pistokemalli.

Hankittiin tämä makuuhuoneen uudeksi kattolampuksi olemassa olevan Hue-systeemin jatkeeksi.

Mielestäni muihin sarjan aiempiin lamppuihin verrattuna oikeastaan aika huokea, ottaen huomioon mukana tuleva fyysisen Hue-katkaisimen.

Lampun muotoilu on varsin neutraali ja siitä jää n. 2m30m asennuskorkeudella varsin vähän näkyviin alaosan vaalean kuvun lisäksi. Joten vaikutelma on lähellä "roikkuvaa plafondia" (jos se nyt mitään kertoo). Valotehoa riittää vaikka muille jakaa ja se toimii erittäin tehokkaana heräämisvalona. Johtoa lampun jatkeena on varsin ruhtinaallisesti...Ehkä n. 2m.

Jos nyt tuotteesta pitäisi hakea jotain miinuksia, niin pakkaus oli aavistuksen heppoinen (ja se postitettiin ilman toista pahvilaatikkoa...tuote silti täysin priimassa kunnossa perille).

Lisäksi lampun sisällä on tavallaan eräänlainen kehämäinen LED-nauha (sen sijaan että sisällä olisi yksittäisiä HUE-polttimoja), joten epäilen ettei sitä voi korjata. Eli sitten joskus 25v. kuluttua tämäkin tuote on "ländfilliä".

Muuten aivan erinomainen ostos, jota voin varauksetta suositella!
