An electric pump is more comfortable than manual and helps me increase milk supply.

Still works after 2 children.

However there is one quite serious defect: it leaks between the top and the bottle! Although compatible bottles are used.

If the bottle is tilted to a certain angle or it tips over to the side, the milk gets out from the side. With a child that needs attention sometimes during pumping it is not really possible to keep the pump always straight.

Today I pumped 90ml of breastmilk - on low milk production, this took me more than an hour. The bottle toppled and 50ml spilled through the crack between bottle and pump! It is really frustrating after all the effort you put into it and also cause it keeps happening over and over. Of course I always check if the bottle is attached properly.

For the price of the product I would expect such a major flaw to be fixed before production.

Please Philips just solve this. Or at least put a warning in the product info :(

Worked fine for 13 weeks than suction power decreased significantly. Changed the valve and parts.. wasted money again but nothing changed. Pump motor is having bad times I guess.

I had trouble breastfeeding when we brought my daughter home from the hospital, so i expressed for a few days until we got the hang of feeding.

This pump is so easy to use, and kind on sensitive and sore nipples! It allowed ny nipples to heal, so i could feed again a few days later. From day 1 of use, plenty of milk was produced, which only got better over time.

Once feeding was established, i had a break from pumping (as it would have been an endless cycle of feeding and pumping with no break!). But 4 months later, i have come back to the pump so i can build up a stock of breastmilk, allowing my husband to do a feed or two.

Even though there was a break, the pump was just as efficient and its getting regular use now.

I believe that had i not had a decent pump to help me out in the begining, i would not be breastfeeding now.

In summary, this is a kind and gentle breast pump. It is efficient, and does not hurt when used on sore and cracked nipples!

i am a huge fan of this product . Helped me with all my kids ! It’s the best present you can do to yourself .

This product is so good to use, the breast pump is so comfortable but the horrible noise it makes while pumping is a Massive disappointment. I can’t pump at night or early morning bcoz my lo will wake up to that weird pumping noise.

I would sincerely request Philips to do something about the noise bit. Otherwise the product is really good and handy for working moms like me.

The soft massage cushion means it’s comfortable to use at any point. As someone who just pumps and feeds having a comfy pump is something that’s needed. There was some features I wish the pump did have. I’m used to a timer so that wasn’t great and a rechargeable function with built battery. Overall though I love this product and looking forward to using till my little girl doesn’t need milk anymore

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I had been able to use this breast pump with my first baby. We had previously used a 'yellow branded' breast pump and it brought us nothing but trouble and inconvenience, leading to our son being bottle fed formula.

Using this pump has ensured that I have had a plentiful supply of breast milk for our daughter. I have produced so much more this time around which I can only thank the Philips Avent pump for.

It is very gentle and so quiet to use, ensuring that it won't disturb our babies sleep.

First use - was ok but took a bit of time figuring out which buttons did what and what worked best for me. End result was it was very comfortable to use, no pain and loads of milk expressed.

So starting from the beginning, very easy to put together the main bulk of it. However, there are quite a few bits and pieces to assemble with in the pump itself. Once assembled, there is a very long lead on the adaptor which is great if you are not near a plug source. Another great thing is that it can take batteries instead of using a plug (great if travelling and have no power). Next, nice simple function buttons, you do have to play around and find what works for you. Very comfy on the breast with the silicone petal in the pump. A few downsides are that it is very noisy. Also you only get supplied with one bottle, could of done with another one at least.

In conclusion, it is a well made sturdy product that does the job. The noise is a bit off putting when your trying to relax and pump. Great value for money but could do with some extra bottles for the pump.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time using a single pump found this really useful so far , fairly comfortable to use and fits together relatively easily. A bit of a faf sometimes getting it back together after sterilising but nothing that causes any stress.

It’s slightly noisier than I expected but still I guess I won’t be pumping in public and if I needed to pump out and about I would still be doing somewhere quieter anyway.

Perfect product for a first time mum and the storage bottle is a handy size.

I will be using this for some time to come to enable storage of milk when I go back to work so am pleased it seems a good quality product so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best pump I have used over 5 years with 3 children. It matches the results if not exceeds that of the hospital grade pump I was using for my daughter when she was in the NICU.

The pump is really easy to use, really easy to set up, it's easy to take apart, easy to clean, it works really well and it is really comfortable.

If you haven't ever used a pump before the instructions are really easy to follow and set up is simple and quick, it is a bit weird to use a pump for the first time but you soon get used to it.

It is pretty much everything you could want from a pump and it definitely does the job. I have used multiple pumps over the years including an old Avent double and that was good, this has superseded it and it is brilliant.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fact that it has the no lean cup. I can sit comfortably on my sofa and not have to worry about leaning forward. It comes apart and goes together easily for cleaning. Attaches to the bottles with ease. Suction is really good. Very easy to use. Feel very happy with the product.

I have only used it via mains power at the time of the review. It is very powerful but doesn't hurt like some pumps I've used before did.
