Sounds good but usability awful
Bought as a gift and fairly easy to set up. Been using for about 6 months and I am now ready for throwing it through window. Works when it wants, finds wi fi when it feels like it (I don’t seem to have problems with other WiFi gadgets so I’m sure network is good) and iPhone app awkward to use.
Truly awful experience
Bought two to pair. The sneakers are decent but the software is truly awful. constantly updating which means you can’t play music. Updates can rake hours and you frequently need to unpair the speakers just to get anything to work. Will not buy any more Bose products on this basis.
Avoid
Like many people, if you search online, the problem is the speaker loses its connection and you have to go through a tortuous connection sequence every few times you use it, so you end up not using it. Bose seem to think it’s a router problem, but are completely out of touch with reality. Problem has been around for ages and Bose seem unable to fix it . AVOID.
Losing WiFi connection constantly
What a disappointment!! The sound is great but the device loses the WiFi connection all the time!!! I have to unplug it for 30 seconds to a minute for it to find the WiFi again. It's a pain....I won't buy any Bose device anymore.....
Great sound
The sound touch app volume control is poor, difficult to adjust and stop it jumping. Would be much better if you could select volume numbers
Pieni, mutta tarpeeksi tehokas kaiutinradio kaksioon
Laite on pieni ja tyylikäs. Ääntä lähtee sopivasti (saa myös todella kovalle). Kaikkein parasta on, että saa asennettua valmiiksi netin kautta tulevat lempparikanavat ulkomailta. Jos haluat kuunnella päivittäin vaikka jonkun toisen maan radiokanavia, tämä on ihan ehdoton väline siihen. Asennus ja käyttö on helppoa kännykkäsovelluksen kautta.
MökkiläinenN, 35–44vGood hardware, poor software
Build and sound quality of the device are what you would expect from Bose, top quality. However, the device is let down by not being portable (requires mains supply at all times) and by the software app not playing albums in correct order from NAS device (only plays in alphabetical order).
Bose-tastic!
I like the Monolith-type design in real life more than I thought I would. For such a small speaker the sound is fantastic. Especially the bass. I've had a few Wi-Fi speakers and this one is the best. Wireless streaming is flawless and sounds great.
I wish there was a choice of voice assistants and AirPlay, but for basic streaming from a music service this speaker is an excellent choice.
Would not buy again
Bought two of these and they constantly need re connection to the WiFi and updating which can take a while.
First class
I received this as a present for my 70th birthday, and use it everyday, I then went and got the wireless link for hifi and turned my 40 year old hifi wireless superb I give it 5stars
Big sound for a small speaker!
Really happy with this purchase. Surprised by the sound quality on such a small speaker. Although set up was not as intuitive as I would have liked, once in place it has performed faultlessly
Otto4M, 45–54vSuperb Sound Quality
I bought the speaker for my kitchen, I like the ability to connect via the sound touch APP and the ability to play music via the presets, I have a Bose Lifestyle 650 system the speaker connects to this. Meaning I can play music in my kitchen as well as the living room. It's a really powerful sound for such a small speaker. another quality speaker made by Bose, I plan to buy another one for my Bedroom very soon
Small and mighty
I had been looking at getting this for a few weeks since I had a demo in store so my partner got me 1 for Christmas
And it’s absolutely fantastic
It took me only minutes to set up with my tablet with the app easily connects to my turntable via Bluetooth
It’s a nice size sits lovely on the sideboard and fills the room with sound
SoundTouch 10
Bought today straight out of the box didn’t even have to read the instructions, added to my soundtouch List as a new speaker, and connected through WIFI as simple as that, up and running in less than 10mins. Sound quality is brilliant and I love it, apple iTunes can connect via Bluetooth and perfect all working, as expected from Bose as I have 3 products of there’s already, cinimate which is fantastic and the small waterproof sound link speaker is also great and ideal for the hot tub that’s also fantastic sound and quality. Bose your the best in sound would always recommend.
Just very annoying.
I have to reset my bose soundtouch frequently. When it is working the sound quality is good.
Setup
I bought the whole system a year ago and still can't get it to function! I have programmed and used computers for more than 30 years but the instructions for setting this system up are pathetically poor unless you want to go round and round in circles. It is the worst piece of gadgetry I have ever come across.
Unreliable
Bought sound touch - was hard to get it working - constantly loses the link - I think the buttons will wear out shortly - when everything else works - often cannot get it to play - have to turn on and off - then link phone - tells me its updating again - then it will play - if I leave on it will at some state go off and getting it to start is time consuming and irritating . I have linked routers in my home and the sound touch cannot work across the two. Sorry to be so negative. Sound quality is good as along all the other Bose stuff I have.
beware
Bought a year ago. Neither the retailer nor Bose tell you before you buy that it isn't compatible with Apple Music. Poor quality of manufacture - power lead loose from day 1 and the Soundtouch App has just failed to upgrade and stopped working. More hassle than it's worth.
Great set up once you figure it out
Used to have a complete Sonos set up in am apartment I was renting a few years back. Fast forward to 3 months ago and i wanted a similar multiroom set up. Having been traveling with work for a while and loving my Soundlink I opted for the soundtouch range.
At high level this represents really good value. For the size or rooms I have the combination of two 10s two 20s and a 30 proved to be a winning combination.
My only complaint is around the operating software. it works well on the phone but it took me quite a while to even find the software to run the system on a mac.
It lacks some of the functionality that you can find on the Sonos system, but tends to work quite well.
Love the system, need Bose to improve the software.
Do not buy.
As a speaker, very impressive. They fill a average sized room with great sound no problem.
However they disconnect from WiFi every couple of days and usually takes about 15- 20 mins of faffing about resetting etc to get them to work again, by that time I’ve lost interest in listening to music. I own 3 sound touch 10 and 1 sound touch 20. All 3 sound touch 10 fail.
Reading forums this problem has been going on for 2-3 years and still hasn’t been resolved. So may be if sales drop bose might actually do something about it.
It’s an absolute gem!
I’ve had a Soundtouch 10 for over a year. It’s a great little speaker. Sounds great, very decent for the cost, size and features it has. Excellent that it’s WiFi, Bluetooth and aux compatible all of which you can play as multiroom/ speakers, which you cannot with many other Bluetooth or multiroom speakers ( only streaming so you have to subscribe to a provider) The fact you can stereo- pair Soundtouch 10’s is also a great feature. I just wish Bose would bring out a portable Soundtouch speaker to enjoy some portability as part of multiroom set up ( like audio pro addon now have) . But overall Bose hAve got it absolutely spot on. 5* from me.
Below average for bose
The speaker is small and feature rich especially when it comes to connectivity, however and it is a big however. The sound quality that comes from it is substandard for a bose product. I already own a soundtouch 300 with sub and vi speakers and they sound amazing. I returned the soundtouch to the store and replaced it with a sonos play 1. The play 1 totally outsclasses the st10 on the audio. Im a little dissapointed with this because it messes with my expansion plans with bose.
Very very poor
Purchased these and although the sound quality is reasonable every day they lose the single and connection with the internet. You need to turn them off to reset or have period of silence.
Really would not recommend
