I have owned a pair of these speakers for over a year. WHEN they work, they sound great, I can’t fault them. The is around the Bose app and connectivity. The speakers, working on the app as a pair, in stereo constantly disconnect and using them is a constant Faff. Ad to that, I’m the only one in the house who seems to be able to coax them into life, so no one ever uses them as it’s too much hassle. If I knew what I know now, when I was stood in the Bose shop, I would definitely not made a purchase. As it stands, I’m sadly looking at putting them on eBay, at significant financial loss and buying something more reliable. Pity, as I have a Bose soundbar in another room that is faultless.

I bought this a couple of years ago and it worked well enough until I upgraded my iMac to run Catalina and now the speaker does not recognise any music stored on my computer. This speaker is NOT compatible with Apple OS.

right so a little story for you all,

yesterday we realised that it may be the last day me and my mates see each other for a very long time thanks to a well known pandemic after the main party finished a couple of us were not ready to call it a day so so we headed back to my house and fired this bad boy up in the living room

bit of context, the living room is on the 3rd floor of the house

anyway after many hours I looked at my phone to find out that I had numerous complaints of many of my flatmates for waking them up due to the "bass being too loud" (this was partly Eric Prydz to thank for this)

even more amazing is how the people complaining lived in the basement of the house! that's 4 floors below where we were with all doors and stuff shut!!!

as my friend said at the time

"the speaker has 4 floors of damage"

The software/setup was a iffy for me in a loop of not finding speaker or WiFi network. perseverance is needed until all are located, which can mean switching off and on again a few times!! But in the end it works and is a blast, hooked up an old wave system with the Bose sound link module, these are gold!!

Superb Sound and easy to set up. I discovered Radio stations I didn't know existed, saving them to Presets is a brilliant. Nothing else to say Excellent goes brilliant the Wave master. I will add more speakers.

Spend all my time adding speakers back into the system.

Bought this a few weeks ago to play along as a second speaker with the sound wave sounds brilliant. Exactly what was needed to compete our wire less music system five stars ⭐️ Bose excellent sound

I bought this after my old CD player finally gave up the ghost. Set up was less painful than I expected but ongoing use has been hard work for an oldie like me. Erratic connection, updates, passwords, the general blank soullessness of digital technology. I have enjoyed listening to music I would otherwise not have heard but miss the ease of use of a CD player, and much of the music I listen to by choice is only available on cd.

The sound from the Soundtouch 20 is amazing with the high end sounds sounding unrivalled. The bass from this speaker is also up there but as someone who likes to feel bass rather than just hearing it, I wish the Soundtouch 20 could give me that tiny bit more. While this speaker is amazing, there are some minor problems. One of these problems being the compatibility with Apple Music. As someone using Apple Music this was a bit of a struggle and in couldn't find a solution whatsoever online. Therefore I gave up and decided to use Spotify which unfortunately requires you to have a premium account which is a tiny let down for some but for me I think the sound from this speaker is worth the extra £9.99 a month! the size of the speaker isn't ridiculous either. I would opt into carrying a speaker needed to be plugged in over a bluetooth speaker just solely based on the sound quality difference. If I could give this any star rating it would be 4.5 stars out of 5 but I cant and I'm leaning closer to perfect than 4 stars and so I will have to give it 5 stars.

I was very surprised how good this speaker is. I've heard worse for more money. Wifi and blutooth platforms are just what i wanted, My music library is easily accessed and can use the graphic equaliser from itunes. Sound quality overall is good. Suggest on first setting up to knock back the base adjustment as it comes with full base as default. I find that the minimum base is suffice for me.

Good value for money.

This arrived yesterday and is absolutely fantastic. Set up easily by my son age 13 and no problems with the app at all. Incredible sound as always with Bose and makes us smile every time we switch it on. Thank you Bose, now for looking at the smaller speakers for our bedrooms.

I hace one in the kitchen and one in the garage. They dont shout, they just sit pretty on the shelf and produce a crisp quality sound.

I give five stars because when it works it is everything it should be. I deduct two stars because all too often it isn't as it should be. It constantly loses the wifi connection and you are confronted with the extremely tedious 'HMMMM'. You are then offered various tips such as making sure it is plugged in, presumably advice for the under fives. Give it a few hours and it will connect again. When I bought it it was to listen to music when I wanted to, not when it decided I could. There may not be comparably priced speakers with the sound quality it offers but there must be more reliable speakers that would do the job. I wish I had bought one of those.

Disappointed with this item (soundtouch 20).

The ads say ‘complete control over all your music’ but it is seriously lacking and I can’t believe that others haven’t mentioned it. You cannot control ANY music settings through an EQ unless you use Apple, then you can use their EQ in your Apple phone. Oh, and 1 little ‘bass’ thing in the soundtouch app that very minimally alters the frequency.

For me, this is a major let down and forces users to listen to whatever Bose feels is suitable and not the user. And to be frank, I get better sound from my Soundlink2.

I’d also like to point out that I have used Bose products for over 30 years now and to be honest, I feel my generation are being ignored slightly. The lack of detailed instructions that came with the item were barely legible nor very informative.

It does, however, give reasonable sound across genres, not great though.

And it’s quite solid and stylish too.

I will probably box it up and gift it to someone for Christmas and look into purchasing something else that enables me to ‘control my music’ and listen to the music I have purchased the way I’d like to listen to it, i.e. not how Apple or Bose see fit.

Have had this for 6 months, constantly loses WiFi connection, then, when it is playing the app cannot find the speaker on network so can’t control it.

Very disappointing for a quality brand

Disappointing. Functionally probably O.K. with an expert. There might as well be no instructions - incomprehensible. I have yet to set it up! Avoid.

I bought a soundtouch 20 and two soundtouch 10 speakers over a year ago ,they were not cheap ! The sound quality when the system works correctly (which is not often) is good ! The problem is the speakers are VERY POOR at staying connected to your home wifi network ! Not just occasionally but 99% of the time !! My network is superb I have NO other problems with ANY of my other wifi devices !!! Make your own decision on weather to buy this system . I would deffinietly NOT have bought the system if I had Known I would have the DAILY problems I have !!!

I've had a Bose Cinema system for years and it was been fantastic. I bought two of the SoundTouch 20s and a SoundTouch 10. It was relatively easy to set them up and the synchronized sound as you walk from room to room is pretty cool (not easy with digital streamed sources!). It tends to all work perfectly for a couple of months and then the software engineers issue a software update that automatically downloads. It's not really obvious what benefits this update brings, however it often ends up with the speakers not working for weeks. The latest update has meant that i can only use one speaker and the Play All function no longer works. I'm sure they will fix it in a future update, but it's quite obvious that they don't test outside the lab and it's infuriating for customers of such a premium brand. When they work though, they sound great

The quality of sound from the SoundTouch 20 is remarkable and it’s compatability is much better than the sonos. However the major snag with this product is the latency when using something through the auxiliary input. This comes as a huge issue which has unfortunately not been sorted by Bose. If you are using the SoundTouch as a live piece of equpiment (for dj’ing or television) it fails to meet the standard of the most basic Hifi systems with an aux input. I’ve never come across a piece of equipment that has delay on an aux input.

This is an absolute shame, if this were to be fixed then then this would be an absolute 5 Star piece of kit. For now, it’s let down by it.

Owned a Soundtouch 20 for 6 months now. Easy to pair with home broaband and Spotify. Sound is excellent with such depth but still crystal clear even when volume is full on.

I bought this speaker to add to the smaller version. And honestly it’s fantastic even when playing alone. It has great sound quality and does not distort as you turn it up. I really do recommend this!!

I've had my speaker for over a year and generally speaking I'm very pleased with the speaker with one exception. The speaker keeps loosing connectivity with the wifi for no reason. When I check that the wifi is working with other devices the wifi is OK. The only way to achieve connectivity is to add the speaker again.

I got this for a xmas present from my partner

to add to the rest of my SoundTouch 300. Unbelievable sounds come from the SoundTouch 20 I'm well impressed Cristal clear sound like the rest of bose now my downstairs is full of music wherever I go. I'm now thinking of buying another one for the upstairs and fill my house up with sound :)

Highly recommend 10/10
