Still doesn't support Google Play, one of the biggest music services. A big negative for Bose compared to competitors. Use my Sonos more because of this omission.

I have a SoundTouch 30 and 20 and the connectivity is terrible the speakers keep dropping out all the time the sound quality is great but they are unusable as paired speakers

Great sound BUT the app is dreadful. Constantly having to plug it into my laptop to refresh the wireless password. Using it on BT Homehum on the 5mHz band which is dedicated to this speaker and two Soundtouch 10's. The Soundtouch 10's are fine and hold the password but the 30 does not. Is this a flaw with the design????

I bought this product 11 January 2018. Out of the box very impressed. Set up as instructed. First blast of sound reasonably good. Radio station lasted about 5 minutes before giving up. Tried another station and got nothing every time. My internet is very good and other Wi-Fi related equipment works very reliably! Re-started ST30 which brings back the radio. Whew! Bluetooth is an enigma. Some equipment connects easily while others still, to this day, remain without connection. ST30 dosen't seem to like them. AUX input is a total disaster and an embarressment for a company like Bose. Nowhere in the sales promo is there mention of a delay that makes AUX totally pointless and useless. I am a musician and intended to use AUX as a good quality monitor for my MacBook Pro composing software. The built in delay means that for me ST 30 is pointless. Bose must have been having a bad day to allow this inadequacy to hit the market. What on earth were they thinking? Anyway, six months down the line and still I am unable to use this product even as a radio. It works randomly but lasts less than five minutes before it gives up. Repeated downloads and installations of whatever software/firmware might be available seem onlly to exacerbate the diabolical performance of this product. DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON A BOSE SOUNDTOUCH 30!!

I got this as a Christmas gift from my wife and son about w and a half years ago. The sound is very good, very rich tones and excellent bass but I’ve had so many issues with it as well. My iPad would keep losing connection to the speaker and previously it has refused to power up but a quick reboot by unplugging from the wall has sorted it. However yesterday once again the power is gone and no amount of unplugging etc is reviving it. So disappointed that a high end product only has a 30 month life time.

We've owned this speaker now for about 4 months. It's totally awesome! The sound quality is just so clear and crisp with wonderfully deep bass. Myself and my wife use the speaker through our wifi and use Spotify. We both listen to different types of music and everything sounds good on it. I also like the option to store internet radio as presents. The app is simple and user friendly.

The Mrs got me this for Christmas, first impressions are it’s fantastic.

She tells me the Bose in blue water gave her a price match and got a good deal.

Sounds great and knocks spots of my old soundock it has replaced.

Only had a few days, but impressed to date.

5 stars because of the incredible sound quality and the radio is great. Would be even better if you could make a playlist on the app but for that a music app is needed which can be expensive. Graphic equaliser would be good on the app.

Sound is OK on very recent recordings anything recorded in 90s or earlier when played at volume reveals poor sound quality and the Bluetooth connection is infuriatingly erratic and jumpy so my table is now hard wired. Would be useful if the USB connection charged your tablet too.

I've been using ST30 for around a month now and in that time I can say that I've had none of the wifi issues that I'd read about when looking at multi room. It was between Bose and Sonos and in the end the practicality and perceived ease of use won out. My wife is quite the technophobe and the option of programming a couple of playlists from Spotify as well as BBC R2/R4 seemed like it would make life for her a lot easier - rather than having to look around frantically for the iPad!

I have found the system to be reliable so far, no drop out a far and perfect synchronisation between the speaker, my iPhone, MacBook and iPad all though wifi.

I'm really happy with the sound of the unit, I listen to Blues, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Neo-Soul etc and it al sounds very balanced across the EQ spectrum and fills the large room admirably.

I realise this is very long winded review but having seen a lot of negative reviews discussing the software I thought I would write about my experience. In fact, I've ordered a Soundtouch 20 for the kitchen based on my experience with the unit.

I thought I'd wait a month to see how it went, the unit is on the entire time I am home and is controlled by whichever of the home gadgets is nearest to hand. So far no issues. Long may it continue !!

I had been looking for good speakers for quite some time. When I was almost 20 years old I saw and heard Bose speaker for the first time in Music World (a store selling CD's etc in India) I absolutely loved the sound then. Now that there are plenty in the market so I did my own research and narrowed down to either SoundTouch 20 or SoundTouch 30. I also looked at all the reviews online and I have to say that I came across quite a few reviews were people were complaining about either the wireless dropping or the application not functioning properly. That put me in two minds as to what to do but then I thought Bose is a very reputable company and I have heard their speakers in so many places so how is it possible that their app will not function. So I went to my local John Lewis store in Milton Keynes and tried out both the speakers in store. Both SoundTouch 20 or SoundTouch 30 are amazing; however for me it was SoundTouch 30 as it is simply the best!! I bought the speaker and brought it home. The setup was SUPER easy. I don't know what to say to people who find this difficult. The device as well as the application are very very very easy and intuitive to use. It took me no time to set it up and it has been several days since I have been using it and the sound is awesome. I have had absolutely no issues with bluetooth, wireless or connectivity to the computer when playing music from my laptop. The Bose App is fantastic, the only thing I would ask as an enhancement to the existing functionality is whether it would be possible to include stuff like YouTube to be included and played from within the application using wifi. I use it using the bluetooth connectivity. Thank you Bose for creating such a wonderful master piece! This is my first Bose purchase and I absolutely love it!!!

Wanted this kit for years and now my music listening pleasure is complete! Thank you Bose for being so good!

I wish I'd bought this sooner, so easy to use and the quality of the sound is amazing worth every penny.

Quality is phenomenal!

Easy to set up, and so simple to use!

Only had this a few day, set up straight out of the box was easy. The music quality excellent. However every morning I find I have lost connection to my iPod and that it will not repair connection via Bluetooth. I have worked around this carrying out a factory reset. However this makes listening to music a huge frustration rather than a relaxing past time. If not sorted soon, this is going back to the shop.

this is a great speaker, doesnt distort, can be controled from my phone or my macbook, perfect all round system, Next to get the sound touch 1 for the bedrooms

Those who know their Bose products need not be told anything about the audio quality, that was already in the bag years ago. Those new to Bose, buy it, love it, that simple. For me anything other than Bose is a compromise. This unit is solid, great features in the app and just so powerful. I use my soundlink mini all week when I'm working away, but the soundtouch 30 goes on the second I return home! The only problem with Bose is that you get so used to the quality, everything else stands out like a sore thumb, for example my van stero, my dad's hifi and our current sound bar for the TV all sound so naff in comparison to the point it becomes irritating, but I can't yet afford a couple of thousand on the Bose surround sound cinema :( !!

This is a wonderful speaker. My first speaker was a old bose ipod speaker and for the age of the speaker it is very good sound.My new speaker has over doubled the sound and quality. Bose has had good sound from the beginning.

Purchased the speaker having experienced a demonstration in the shop and blown away by the bass and excellent sound quality. Even at 100% volume (yes I went that high) the quality is impeccable.

The 6 preset buttons are a great feature, being able to save your favorite radio stations, Spotify playlists and songs and play them at a touch of the button is ace.

With the Ethernet cable it means I can play songs through my PC which is hardwired.

Being able to play songs through Bluetooth and through secondary apps such as Youtube, Spotify, apple music is a bonus too which cannot be done the SONOS equivalent where music can only be played through its app.

Only critic is that the app seems a tad old fashioned with the font styles etc but works faultlessly. But as this is BOSE, I'm sure it will be updated in no time soon.

I had always wanted a Bose but could never justify the cost. I got the motivation when I got very ill and so spent part of my last pay cheque on this wonderful device.

It is easy to set up and has been upgraded to to take Spotify. It looks beautifully understated and the sound fills the room. Liked it so much that I have also since bought a baby brother and noise cancelling earphones.

Beautiful rich sound...... Flawless but pricey.

For me it was all about the sound. I'd done the usual research but for me it was about personal choice, in terms of sound quality, than winners in magazine reviews. I personally love the rich, deep, room filling sound of the Bose SoundTouch 30 and, for me, it beat the recommended 'winner'. I was also fortunate that Bose had updated the design to incorporate the grey cloth facia which fits in with our home decor and also helped to secure the purchase. The only, slight, issue has been with the app which for me is a little too basic. It also has failed a couple of times and has required going through a system reset. But, as I said, it is a minor gripe given the performance. The music does not distort: even at room shaking high volume (when the neighbours are out of course ;-) Initially, I was a little apprehensive moving to an 'online' system but it has turned out to be a total joy as we have relived our personal musical history's using the recommended online streaming service. I highly recommend this product. In fact, I have been so impressed that I have bought Bose's AE2 bluetooth earphones for when I'm away from the SoundTouch 30.

After a couple of very challenging months, I decided I needed cheering up, so off I went to London and purchased my fifth BOSE product, the Sound Touch 30 in black. There are no gimmicks here, it's visually unassuming, not shaped like a Rugby Ball and doesn't look like something out of the sixties either, but what lurks behind the blackness is brutal.

I don't work for What HIFI, or Which, and I'm not a sound technician either, but I can say that it is a remarkable achievement to manufacture a product so small whilst emitting a sound so huge in clarity and ooompfff. With my four other products, BOSE have never failed to please me, and the same applies here. Go and buy one, immediately, your neighbours won't like it one bit, but you will.
