I’m really impressed with the Philips Hair Clipper Series 9000. It feels well made and has plenty of power, while still being comfortable and easy to handle.

The different cutting lengths are particularly useful, and being able to adjust the length in 1mm increments makes it much easier to get the finish you want. The clippers cut smoothly and evenly without having to repeatedly go over the same area, and they work particularly well for creating fades and keeping the edges neat.

The blades feel sharp and the clipper has a premium feel compared with cheaper models I’ve used in the past. I also like that it comes with useful accessories, including the scissors, comb, cape and hair clips, so you have pretty much everything you need for a home haircut.

Battery life has also been very good, and the clipper is straightforward to clean after use.

Overall, this is an excellent set of clippers for anyone who cuts their own hair or wants to cut hair at home. It’s versatile, powerful and gives a very professional-looking result once you get used to the different settings.

I was incredibly nervous about messing up his hair or accidentally nicking his skin, but this clipper made the whole experience much easier than I expected for my first try.

What I Loved (The Pros):

• Zero Pulling or Tugging: My biggest fear was the blades pulling his hair and making him cry. The motor automatically adjusts its power based on how thick the hair is, so it glided right through his hair smoothly and painlessly.
• Whisper Quiet: Kids can get easily spooked by loud buzzing near their ears. While it’s not completely silent, the motor is quiet and smooth enough that it didn't scare or startle him at all.
• Foolproof Digital Lengths: The digital touch screen is amazing. I could lock in the exact millimeter length I wanted, meaning there was absolutely zero risk of me accidentally bumping a physical dial mid-cut and ruining his hair.
• Massive Battery: It has a 180-minute battery life. Since it took me a long time to finish because I was being slow and extra cautious, it was great not having to worry about a cord getting tangled around a squirming child.
  
  

What to Watch Out For (The Cons):

• The Guard Flexes If You Push: I noticed early on that if you press the plastic comb attachment too firmly against the head, the guard can flex slightly. For kids with softer, rounder heads, you just need to let the clipper glide gently over the skin without pushing down.
• Lots of Attachments: It comes with a few different motorized combs to cover all the length ranges. As a beginner, it took me a moment to figure out which comb went with which digital length setting.
  
  

Overall Verdict:

If you are nervous about cutting your child's hair for the first time, this is worth every penny. It gives you massive confidence because the digital settings won't slip, it's gentle on thick hair, and it's quiet enough to keep kids calm. Our first home haircut was a huge success.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trimmer is easy and straightforward to use but gives a nice professional finish. This is great to do my child’s hair at home when necessary. There are plenty of heads included and these are nice and easy to switch out when needed, so you can create any style you want easily. The trimmer is also really lightweight and glides through the hair easily. The one downside is the hair scissors that are included in the box, these are poor quality and useless for anything other than tidying up ends if you’re desperate. Not such a big deal but if this is marketed as a complete hair kit then the scissors should really be improved. The current pair are blunt and feel very flimsy. It was nice to see an apron and cleaning tools for the razor included in the set too alongside a lovely storage bag to keep everything together.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Precise, lightweight and fantastic clippers, sharp blade that sharpens itself, easy to use as a hadresser with 30+ years experience these are far and away the best clippers I've ever used, they virtually silent, there's no vibration on the hands when using them, they look great on my trolley too. Plenty of attachments including a good selection of guards, 2 fade combs, a soft as silk neck brush, a nice gown amd although I like the gowns elasticated neck it is a little tight, a charger and a storage pouch. Couldn't be easier to use and great on beards too

The power from these clippers is excellent and the sharpness of the clippers make them super effective. There are a range of different grades and this set comes with extras like a bag to keep everything in. I personally used them on grade 0 to shave my husband’s hair and it gave a very close shaved effect. If you are more able I’m sure you could give a really good haircut and style as good as a barbour. I highly recommend these and I’m really impressed with the quality and effectiveness.

Cleaning the shaver, which was a pain on older shavers, is now as easy as it gets. The shaving head opens easily via the small button beneath it. The process is as simple as possible. The shaver has a long runtime, comes with excellent extras in the box, like a barber’s cape, scissors and brush. All in all it’s the best I’ve ever owned and nothing even comes close. I highly recommend the Philips HairClipper Series 9000 (HC9722/15), I couldn’t be happier.

Does its job well, the length can be adjusted within a larger range than for other makes and models, but I preferred a previous model which had a swivel head and was much easier to cut own hair.

Great brand, great product...have had a similar model for years...decided to replace with the newer updated version.

Hair cutters are great the only problem is i had to send the first set back and it took weeks to get a replacement set back.

Excellent product. Could have done with this during covid as its far better than the add on to my Phillips shaver! It's as flexible as you can get and very easy to use.

Cuts well but it cannot be switched off manually. Also the swiping controls are a nonsense. They don't respond as the manual suggests they do. the whole control system is terribly thought out.

Have had an older Philips hair trimmer for over 10 years and think it’s the best I’ve used, but the battery won’t hold a charge now. Used this is couple of times now and the flexibility of cutting length is great.

Good clippers cut really well, easy to use and light. Charge quickly and last a good time before needing to be re-charged. Setting length display easy to read and easily set and stored, only slight issue is the digital swipe is quite sensitive and it is a little difficult to get the exact setting you require sometimes. There are more than 400 possible length settings as it goes up in increments of 0.1mm which is a little excessive/over the top, but would recommend, you get what you pay for.

I really want to love this product.

It glides through hair, facial and head with ease. This doesn't tend to be the case with most cordless trimmers, they tend to snag.

The only problem I have found is the comb. It's massive!

Like a lot of people have found, it does cut shorter than expected, but due to the size of the comb it's impossible to trim under your nose properly, and awkward under your chin, if not just going up or down.
