Amazing shaver, recommended to shave with dry or wet face

I had a 7000 series shaver and I thought there will be a lot of difference with the 9000. The shaving time has slightly reduced. But what I find difficult to accept is the cleaning liquid. I am told you have to buy the whole cartridge. Can't buy the liquid only. In my opinion it is expensive and theory of recycling doesn't apply at all. Hera I bought a refurbished shaver! By the way this is the 4rd or the 5th Philips shaver

Would have expected this shaver to be excellent due to its high original retail price . One small minus point is getting the 3 shaver lid open , for cleaning . On my previous Philips shavers there was a button which flipped open the shaver cutters ., whereas this shaver does not .

The shaver is easy to use and keep clean once instructions are read and understood which is also straightforward. The shaver is deceivingly silent in operation but does give a comfortable and extremely close shave. Various heads are available and easily interchanged. I also like the cleaning system.

When I bought this I knew that the shave would not be as close as an open razor but at 74 years off age dragging an open razor across your face can sometimes be sore, so, after my shower I lather up and have a wet electric razor shave then follow that up with an open razor and I have to admit it works. I have used the electric razor only after a shower and then at night I feel that if I was going anywhere I would need to use it again which I expected. So far the razor has been using the original charge i did 5 -6 weeks again and only one bar has been used. The cleaning station is good and I have only given the razor one 10 minute clean. I have also used it for a dry shave and no problems. Overall I would give it a score of 10/10

This is possibly the 6th Philips shaver I have had in my 65 years of life, 50 plus years of shaving. Always get the best shave from their products, this continues to prove I was right in my choice, plus, the self cleaning is brilliant. No hesitation in recommending.

Gives an excellent shave. First time using an electric razor but very simple to use and gives a close shave.

Received as a Xmas gift to update older Model Philips Shaver. First impression was of quality finish. Switched on after charging and noted how much quieter than the old one it was. Started shaving and it seemed to have slow cutter rotation speed which gave a sensation of using a blunt razor blade. Persisted for a couple of weeks before revering back to old shaver for a quicker and more comfortable shave albeit noisier.

My first Made in Holland 1970 White shaver was the Best one I nevera got again.

I bought many posterior Black series but no one of them was usefull to me. I had to come back to the old shaving blades

It's a superb shaver and it gives me the closest shave I have ever known.

The best shaver I've ever had easy to use the smart cleaner is great cleans and dry the shaver giving me the shave I've ever had.

I am finding it doesn't shave close. I used the 7000 series before and the new shaver is not as good, maybe I am doing something wrong. Can you help

Parran ajaminen sujuu muuten hyvin, mutta minua häiritsee paljon koneen rungon nitinä ja natina. Edellisen saman mallisen koneen vein takuuhuoltoon juuri tuon rungon nitinän takia. Kone ei enää nitissyt huollosta tullessaan, mutta teräosa alkoi "muljahdella" oudosti ja jäi joskus vinoon asentoon. Sain takuuseen uuden koneen sen tilalle. Tässä uudessakin siis sitä samaa ärsyttävää nitinää. Tätä uutta konetta en enää vienyt takuuhuoltoon, se kesti viimeksi yli 2 viikkoa.

Only 4 * as I am concerned about the method of disconnecting shaver blades for daily cleaning. My old philips was easier and felt less likely to wear out.

Have used Phillips shavers for years but this series is the worst , it takes longer to get a decent shave and the heads only last months not the recommended and published time

Drags on skin, does not shave closely and takes a long time to complete shave. It was a 2019 Christmas gift however it is so bad I have reverted to my PT920 which has a three year old blade (should have been replaced at 2 years), which shaves smoother, faster and closer. After shaving with this razor I can then shave again with my PT920 and get a closer shave.

I have used Philips razors for over 40 years and have only replaced each one with an improved model, with one exception which was a HQ5890 where a plastic pivot in the head failed and the part was no longer available.

I have not mentioned the fiddly side cutter arrangement! My recommendation is not to buy but to purchase any Philips razor with a HQ9 shaving head which is far superior.

However I know understand that replacement HQ9 blades are no longer available - Why???

I have been using this shaver for two years and while it worked very well to begin with, it is now at the point where just by normal shaving, which I need to do every day, the head assembly falls off the body at the slightest resistance of my face and neck. It is merely pushed onto the body and comes off with the slightest of movement pulling it. This can make having a shave problematic and frustrating, especially if I fail to catch it falling off and it crashes to the bathroom floor.

I am nearly 80 years old and have been using Philishave electric shavers for about 60 years. I have owned seven shavers over the years, the first two performed much better than the more recent ones. With my present shaver (9000) it takes me about 17 minutes to get a decent shave.

I suspect that the development of floating heads and a drive towards less weight, with consequential loss of strength, has resulted in poorer performance.

I would recommend this product. Easy and quick to you. Close shave no irritation.

As it’s my first electric razor for over 30 years, I was expecting high results. it’s far better than I expected giving a good close shave. For the price I would have liked a cover for the shaver heads and not have to buy one!! This is very disappointing. Cleaning system is brilliant. Overall it’s a good razor.

Well pleased with it but it should have come with accessories that would have made 5 stars.

It is a very good shaver, but I don’t think using it wet is practical as it takes longer and lease long hairs.

It isn’t Bluetooth and cannot be used with the app.
