Brilliant little package with a superb lens that allows both good automatic pictures or something more creative using the various controls.

What a Little Beast of a Camera , I've changed from Full Frame to Rx100 and I'm really pleased I did ...

The latest version is the Mk7 which was launched in 2019, which makes this little camera a lot behind the curve. The biggest difference with the Mk3 is the zoom and the screen, both considerably better in the Mk7.

The Mk3 is however a superb little camera with most of the features and spec of the Mk7, but at a VERY much lower cost.

I bought this as I wanted a good compact camera for an upcoming trip. Image quality was paramount over a long optical zoom. Nice wide angle and fast lens, pop up viewfinder and more modes than you can shake a stick at. So far the images have been crystal clear and pin sharp.

Bought this camera after reading other reviews as I needed a small camera for travel and family functions etc, one you can easily carry around with you instead of my bulky DSLR camera, and I have to say this takes great photos and easy to transfer to phone etc, no fuss point and shoot with manual settings if you want more options, black&white photos are excellent, early days but looking forward to more opportunities to use this fab little camera.

I bought this camera as I wanted a smaller camera that is easy to use and would produce big camera results and that is exactly what it does!

This was a breakthrough camera when it came out. Sony has iterated but not improved much on subsequent models.

In some ways, sadly, mobile phones have supplanted this line now. But it was great initially, except they never updated it correctly. As a recurring theme.

Feels great in the hand, is very small (considering) and gives great IQ. For reference, I am an experienced photographer.

Tämä malli on ollut markkinoilla jo joitakin vuosia, mutta on edelleenkin parhaita tämän hinta- ja kokoluokan kameroita. Jos ei tarvitse kuvata 4-k videoita, niin tämä on hyvä vaihtoehto. Valovoimaisen optiikan ansiosta hämärässä kuvaaminen onnistuu hyvin.

Sopivan pieni ja helppokäyttöinen. Olisin ehkä toivonut koteloa missä säilyttää tai isolle näytölle suojaa.

I'm a novice in the world of photography- but take loads of pictures across a wide range of subjects. My DSLR recently packed in, so I bought this as a convenient substitute because of its high spec and being easy to carry. It has loads of technical features which I am determined to master. Downside for me - two points- the shutter button is too small and at night in December its difficult to use sensitively. I've already bought and applied the stick on side grip to make it more secure to hold. Plus the photo download is tedious on my phone but easier on ipad. Ziess lens is amazing.

Really love this camera. Terrific photos. Just be careful with it as it is fragile.

Not the newest of the RX100 stable but for me this is very much the value sweet spot. A little more reach at the telephoto end would be nice and the soap-like body is crying out for the aftermarket stick-on grip that should be supplied from new but small niggles aside this is a remarkable combinate of super-sharp lens, speedy processing and effective 1-inch sensor that displays surprisingly little noise in low light for a 20.1-megapixel unit. Throw in the pop-up viewfinder that magically appears from the body and then stows away to allow impressive pocket-ability and this is a proper powerhouse.

Bought this to replace a digital slr as wanted something a little lighter and given I bought my slr a year ago, hopefully better specs.

We’ll, I got both, smaller( by a mile!) and specs far better than the bulky slr I had. 20 mpixels a great lens and all the normal extras. Recommend

Näppärä ja kompakti pikkupokkari. Ostin tämän manuaalisäätöjen tähden, jotta voisi vaikuttaa enemmänkin minkälaisia kuvia ottaa. Youtubista löytyy hyviä ohjeita kameraa varten. Kuvat ovat laadukkaita, hämäräkuvaus onnistuu myös hyvin. Olen erittäin tyytyväinen ostokseen.

• Omat esisäädöt valitun napin alle
• Histogrammi
• Eri näyttötilat kuvattaessa, myös "vesivaaka" näytössä jos haluaa. Nämäkin voi asetaa ja valita itse edeltä.
• Toimiva kerroskuvaus HDR jo automaattiasetuksella. Parantaa oikeasti ja todella kuvaa vaikeissa oloissa
• Hyvät käsisäädöt. Nämä eivät ole hankalasti valikoiden takana vaan aukkoa ja aikaa voi säätää siinä kuin järkkärissä.
• Raw tai raw+jpg tai pelkkä jpg.
• Sisäinen harmaasuodin. Hyvä kun pitää saada blurrattua taustaa pois kirkkaassa valossa
• Kennon koko riittää syväterävyysalueen hallintaan (saa taustaa epäteräväksi halutessaan)
  
  

Miinukset (aika vähäiset tosin ja osa korjattavissa)

• Pienet painikkeet aluksi hankalat
• Liukas otepinta oikealle kädelle. Tulee hankkia erillinen kahva tai yhtä hyvä kuminen otepinta, jolloin käsittely helpottuu.
• Ei suodinkierrettä (koska pieniläpimittainen putki). Tähän saa erillisen suodinkierteen tarvikkeena (esim 52 mm) ja siihen vaikka UV- ym. suotimet ja/tai vastavalosuojan. Ei jatka kameraa kuin nimeksi mutta suojaa myös etulinssiä. Näyttöön kannattaa samalla hankkia suojalasi. Noin 2 euroa, muuten.
• Kamera sammuu kun erillisnäytön painaa alas
• Kuvansiirto ei toimi wifin kautta ongelmitta kaikkien luurien kanssa. Resoluutio pienenee tarpeettomasti siirrossa. Pitää siis mennä kaapeleilla tai laittaa kortti koneeseen.
  
  

Korvaa täysin järjestelmäkameran ellei tarvitse yli 70 mm:n putkea ja erillistä salamaa. Parempaa kuvanlaatua - ihan kärkeä kaikilla mittapuilla - ei ammattikuvaajakaan tarvitse.

Vinkkinä että ison 64 gigan muistikorttiin mahtuu yli 5000 (!) 20 megan kuvaa. "Filmi" ei ihan heti lopu. Akkukin riittää ihan kohtuullisesti mikäli ei koko ajan räplää.

Video-ominaisuuksia en tunne enkä käytä. Siksi edullisempi 3-versio, joka tarjoaa still-kuvaajalle ihan kaiken oleellisen ja paljon ylikin, joka ei tähän tai mihinkään mahdu (mm. automaattitarkennukset silmiin, kasvojentunnistuksen, hymyn tunnistuksen- ihan mielikuvitukselliseen saakka.)

Sopivan pienikokoinen pokkarikamera esim. reissuihin mukaan otettavaksi, mahtuu tarvittaessa taskuun. Omille kuvaustaidoille sopiva ja varmasti niiden kehittyessäkin edelleen varsin hyvä kamera. Kamerassa on paljon toimintoja, mutta silti säilyttää helppokäyttöisyyden. Akku ei ole mikään pitkäkestoisin, mutta pienikokoisuuteen verrattuna akunkesto on hyvä.

I wanted a camera that was a noticeable upgrade from a smartphone, portable, and didn't cost a fortune. I did a lot of research and went for this model in the end - and the results I have obtained even with my basic and limited knowledge of photography have far exceeded my expectations. If point and click is more your thing, this also does a superb job of that - and the camera knows more than I do at the moment when comparing my manual pictures to the settings the camera chooses on auto.

I have also compared this side by side with an expensive DSLR, and whilst a good photographer would achieve better results with the bigger camera, for me the comparison was favourable for my RX and what I was trying to achieve.

I don't intend to take up photography as a hobby, just obtain a greater understanding of it to take better pictures, and needed the equipment to enable me to do that - but this would be a great stepping stone for someone that did want to do that - before making the jump to a more complex and expensive product.

You can make full adjustment around the exposure triangle, and the menu system is very easy to use. The zoom is not that big, so if that's important you may want to consider stepping up to models higher in this range, but for someone like me - using it on trips at home and abroad it's perfect - giving me control over the settings, and avoiding the horrible distortion that can occur on camera phones.

Fits in a pocket, so I use it more than I would a large SLR camera. Simple to use as a 'point and shoot' camera but with added features as well. Having a viewfinder as well as the screen is a huge bonus, especially in bright sunlight.

The Sony DSC-RX100 is a stellar compact camera that impresses with its exceptional image quality. The vibrant colors to stunning details, Its compact size and user-friendly interface make it a perfect for amateur's or pro's. One let down for me was the over complicated & convoluted menu system, however this is now much improved with later models. eurs & professionalsf

Exactly the standard of service I have come to expect from Sony

Just fancied a smaller camera to my brilliant Canon Powershot.....early days but good results however still need to handle the complexity available on this camera . Basically I just want to have a point and shoot and a decent telephoto . Camera delivers but would prefer a slightly better telephoto . . But good price including cade and grip so overall very pleased .

Like the compact size, like the solid feel, like the hidden flash and viewfinder. Mainly like the sharp images. It's the best value compact. Would like more zoom but then wouldn't like the larger size. Overall I'm very happy

Camera has a very poor zoom function, only 70mm. Pretty useless from my holiday to Scotland
