As the title suggests, this is nothing but a functional hard drive. It performs like a hard drive, even sounds like a hard drive. From my experience, nearly all hard drives are the same given that they spin at the same speeds, the only difference usually is longevity...

I had this hard drive for almost a year now, I've written a bit more than 10TB to it in the course of that time, and already it's starting to show its age. Currently, if I put this hard drive into a hot swappable drive bay, it would vibrate hard enough to cause the tray to clatter against the bay (a very unpleasing sound). It just rubs that sore by also introducing a screeching noise whenever it is being used, the source unknown, I would suppose it's the platter against the spindle. Despite that, it still functions perfectly fine, albeit with abit of annoyance.

In general, this is below my expectations and generally I would only recommend this as a drive for mass game storage or otherwise unimportant and/or backed-up files. Take a look at Toshiba or WD drives if you want to buy storage for important purposes.
