I still have an old camcorder using MiniDV and need to buy some tapes from time to time. I always use Sony, as the quality is always good, I don't need to clean the recording heads too often and long term storage is great. Very good value for money. The "average" ratings given on design, ease of use, features etc. are only because these are simple tapes, not because they are not good.
