The first
I’m going to try my first smoked pork butt tomorrow Feb. 13, 2025
Worth the investment - so far
This smoker replaces an older one (>15 years) that rusted out. The 18" Weber is larger than my old one, but I plan to smoke full sized briskets and needed the larger size. Assembly of the legs to the charcoal pan required some modification and balancing act, but the remainder was easy. Inserting the rubber gasket for temperature probes was a problem and the gasket tore - but was replaced by Weber quickly.
So far, I have only smoked chicken wings and they came out perfect. The guide regarding recommended charcoal briquettes was very helpful. Temperature was steady at 250 degrees and the wings were delicious. Can't wait to try it out with a brisket.

Excellent! Took two cooks to get the hang of it but makes a smoking rookie feel like a pro. In hindsight I should’ve bought the bigger one because of increased demand since the food turns out so good. Turkey, chicken and ribs have been elevated; going to do brisket once the Canadian winter subsides. Highly recommended for novice users who want to get into the smoking game.
A lot of food .consistent temps. Good smoke!
Amazing how much food can be cooked even with the 18. So far results have been outstanding. Great job Weber!

Really enjoying the WSM 18 smoker. Most recently smoked a Thanksgiving turkey and it was the best turkey we ever had. The WSM is easy to use and holds a consistant heat even in cold weather and I would highly recommend it.
Havent used a bunch but already know
So far I have only done very basic with throwing some lump in there and burning it in and got to 350 quick. Its winter.. next day it didnt go as high but that was my fault. held at 290 for a long tiome based on what was in it and then just added a few bricks and went to 315 and held...I just know this is going to be amazing once Its not freezing out
Great Unit!
I purchased this from a local specialty retailer not too long ago, and have used it a few times before the cold and snow moved in (I live in Ottawa, Ontario). The first time was a little deflating - there is a lot of experience needed with this unit. After that, things went better, and the end product was very good.
What an awesome smoker
Been wanting to get into smoking for a while. Kept doing research on a great smoker to learn on but one that can also pump out some competition style bbq, let me tell you this is the one. Have only used it 3 times so far but absolutly in love with it. Done pork belly, ribs, and a beef shank. All turned out so good. Cannot recommend this smoker enough coming from a beginner like myself.

Loving 18 Weber Smokey Mountain
I love the Weber Smokey Mountain smoker. I got the 18 inch, so far the right size for me. Did ribs, chicken, pork shoulder and salmon. All came out great. Controlling temp, I found relatively easy. Second cooking grate is nice feature. I am a big fan of Weber. Have a gas one, kettle and now the WSM. I really like the door to add fuel for long cooks.
For Weber. Can the charcoal grate have tighter spacing to maximize fuel. Also, enhance accessories like: handles, wheels, gaskets, liners for water pan (Still a great little smoker).

I Absolutely Love This Smoker!
I was given this as a Father's Day present and it is crazy easy to use! I was kind of worried that I would be throwing away bad results since I have never smaoked anything, but this smaoker is incredible and easy to use and be successful.
Good but not great smoker
The assembly was not smooth or easy to complete as the bottom pan does not fit smoothly intothe appropriate slots. Asaresult, the pan slips off frequently. The directions on assembling thelegs did not clearly displaythe proper order of washers and nut.
A perfect choice
The control that you have with this smoker is truly impressive and the size works perfectly for cooking for up to 10 people easily.
Great Smoker
Very solid, should last forever! After lighting give the coals some time to settle down ( up to an hour) and the temps are very easy to maintain. Some people don’t like the water pan but it works great for lower temperatures.
Best smoker on the market
This is not my first WSM. Just like children: I love them all the same!

I debated buying a WSM for several years and finally pulled the trigger on the 18” model. I’ve had it for about a month now and used it half a dozen times. I’ve been very happy with the results. I’ll break down my thoughts into the highlights of positives and negatives.
First the positives: The food that comes off this thing is
excellent. It is a steady, steady cooker. The temps are rock
solid for about 6 hours with a full load of briquettes and various wood chunks (I usually use 3 or 4). I keep the lid vent completely open, two bottom vents completely shut, and one bottom vent about halfway open. When the temp starts to dip, it likes to ride at 275 with this method. I open the closed bottom vents as needed and get another two hours of steady temp. I do not use the water pan (see below). Construction is good and I don’t notice much in the way of smoke-leakage. I’ve done brisket, chicken, pork butt, pork belly, cinnamon rolls, bacon, etc. results are excellent.
Now the negatives: This thing needs wheels and barrel handles. You can do them after-market, and I may do that eventually. But for now, I have to put it where I want it and leave it there for the entire cook. The water pan is a total mess if you use it. You can wrap it in foil, but it still gets full of grease and it is a real job cleaning it out. I’d love to see Weber make heavy-duty foil liners for it. I cook without it and use a foil pan with water on the lower cooking grate. Needless to say, I have only used the top grate for cooking.
This is an excellent product overall. I’m a Weber junkie, and this WSM adds to my kettles and gasser.
Absolutely YES!
Fantastic smoker! I have smoked with this for a long time now and have loved it more and more each time I use it. I love the control, ease, versatility, really everything about it. I added some mods, like a hinge for the lid, and handles, and I love it even more! It's fantastic and could not recommend enough!

What a great Fathers Day gift
This was a Father’s Day gift and what a gift!!! It’s been easy to set up, the videos on the website were very helpful in setting it up, preparing it, and my first efforts using it
