    Immensely immersive and beautiful sound

I think these headphones are unparalleled for the price, they don't clamp hard on my head and the suspension strap design is really intuitive. Combined with a shockingly lightweight design I have no hassle having them on all day, it's like they are invisible which is what I would look for in a headphone, amazing comfort. The sound is so clear and emphasises the right parts, bass is still great for an open back and the width of sound here makes me feel like I got speakers which helps to separate sounds clearly like friends in call whilst gaming. Despite being open back, they don't really leak a lot of sound it's pretty isolated. Overall I'm really impressed with these and they'll be my main pair from now on.

    Fantastic headset/headphone

Had these for a few weeks now and have become one of my favourite all round headsets for work and gaming usage.

Super light and comfortable, sound great with minimal eq needed for my preference and with a decent mic.

If you don't need wireless they are superb - if Sony could add the wireless functionality of the Inzone H9 II to these they'd be perfect!

  3. Arvosana 4/5

    Good for casual gamers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So when you open the box, you get the H6 Air headset, the USB‑C audio box, the detachable mic easy adjustable, the 3.5mm jack cable, and the usual stack of Sony papers. Everything’s laid out neatly, and the unboxing feels clean and well‑organised as usual. Just note that unlike the more expensive INZONE H9 II, there’s no travel bag included, so everything goes straight into your setup or your backpack as it is but this has a cool cable strap that wasn't on the H9.

The headset itself is comfortable and lightweight, and the slider‑lock adjustment design makes it really easy to fit without it slipping around. The metal open‑back design gives it an airy, open feel, and it’s easy to wear for long sessions. Sound is solid for casual gaming, punchy enough, clear enough, and easy on the ears.

The detachable mic is still very much “it works”, but it’s perfectly fine for chatting with friends and as stated is really easy to move around but stays in it's place.

Overall, it’s an easygoing, no‑nonsense headset that does exactly what you want without making a fuss.

    INZONE H6 Air

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well once again Sony have outdone themselves. Although I had no use for these, my grandson absolutely loves em. He barely takes them off. From connectivity to comfort to audio quality Sony definitely delivers. Connect flawlessly to his PS5 without fail, audio is great and he sez sometimes he forgets he’s got them on. So, to summarise, as good as it gets, if you believe my grandson, and I’ve no reason not to. Well worth every penny.

Comfortable and produce stunning sound !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had heard good things about the Sony H6 Air headphones, so I have been eagerly waiting to try them myself. Will they live up to expectations?

The first thing I noticed was how light they are, coupled with the nylon ear cushions which are extremely soft, immediately made me realise these are probably the most comfortable headphones I have ever put on! The headband is fully adjustable for a perfect fit.

Everything is well made with a few subtle logos which gives a clean look. As they have been produced with open back ear cups, the air passes through which definitely helps prevent sweat for long gaming sessions. After playing for a few hours, I actually forgot I was wearing them!

The open back design also improves the sound quality, giving a more natural experience. The 40mm drivers, which are used in studio monitor headphones, have been tuned especially for gaming and give an incredible depth to the sound. The only drawback to the open back design is that you can occasionally hear noises from the environment around you. If you have them at a high volume, anyone near you will be able to hear the sound.

I found the sound produced amazing with accurate bass and clear high frequencies. Taking it a step further, I tried the RPG/adventure setting which can be accessed via the Inzone hub. This gave incredible results and I truly felt immersed in the gaming world. Rustling of trees, a noise behind, and even giving the sense of height to the sound. Listening to music is just as impressive with these headphones. Truly stunning!

The adjustable microphone works well and produces clear audio. The 3.5mm headphone jack can be connected to the supplied USB connector which ensures the H6 Air is compatible with just about any device! Being wired makes this possible and I believe Sony made the right choice here rather than going wireless.

So did they live up to expectations? Yes and actually exceeded them! Extremely comfortable, stunning sound, especially when gaming, and compatibility make the H6 Air the best headphones I have ever used!

    Inzone H6 Air

Eipä voi muuta kun suositella. Äänenlaatu on erittäin hyvä. Suosittelen.

    Weightless Gaming Headset for Everyone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This headset comes with a 2m cord and a Type-C audio box, making it perfect for use with both a phone and a PC. The sound quality can be customized in the INZONE Hub, adding a personal touch to the listening experience. Its lightweight design means no discomfort, even after wearing it for long periods. With the same drivers as Sony’s MDR-MV1, the sound is incredible—good enough to double as a studio monitor. Truly a case of killing two birds with one stone!

Great Addition to Games, TeamTalk & Music at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The headphones were nicely packaged, complete with microphone, audio cable and USB-C adapter, all easily accessible in a removeable tray in the packaging box.

Getting the headphones set up was straightforward - plug one end of the audio cable into the headphones and the other into your PC/Laptop or optional source, using either the 3.5mm jack or the USB-C adapter. The cable is designed adequately that the right angled end must be plugged into the source. Although this is indicated on a tag attached to the cable, I'm not sure of the benefits of designing the cable this way are, as it is something you could get the wrong way round, which I did!

The cable length is a good at 2m and allows access to desktop as well as floor mounted PC's. The USB-C adapter is convenient, although, as I was assisted by my friend, there is no traditional USB-A offering. If I did my install correctly, you can only install the Inzone software from Sony's website, as I could find nothing in the box. Although that is minor issue as installing the software was very straightforward (I did get some help from my friend to do this, as I wasn't completely sure myself).

The equalizer software comes with some decent pre-sets for different types of games, music and videos. I wasn't sure about the requirement to register for Sound Field Personalization, and would prefer this to be not required.

The headphones themselves are comfortable and fully cover the ears with their cushioned fabric which don't get hot, even with continued use, which was pleasing. One small comment, the indication of left and right is so subtle, I missed it, and didn't notice till the second day of using which led to some unnecessary adjustments. The microphone mute button is excellent - giving a very clear indication as to whether the mic is active or not, without having to remove the headphones to check. The volume controls are a bit plasticy, but operate well enough. Last observation is the mic boom, which is extremely flexible and easy to move positions. The foam muffler is a bit cheap feeling as opposed to the rest of the headset.

With friends I noticed the sound quality was excellent in comparison, in terms of both range for both games and music. The stereo sound is very good for the price range of the headsets and the Bass packs a real punch when turned up. The microphone picked up my voice clearly, but my friends said they could hear a lot of background noise, especially from my keyboard. The headphones overall are very good and by removing the mic, you get a decent pair of music headphones, which in all honesty, I would use for most as my gaming skills are very limited and as I have retired, teams, business meetings are few.

I feel very happy to have a set of headphones which can double up for gaming and music equally in my locker. My biggest issues with them is the poor noise cancellation on the microphone and the need to create an account to use Sound Field Personalization. But, from a sound and feel quality, they are very good headphones.

H6 Air Gaming Headset - Comfortable & good sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sony has always been great with paper based packaging, so it was nice to see that continue with the Sony H6 Air. The headset itself is impressively light, comfortable, and secure, making it easy to wear for long periods without any discomfort.

As a wired headset, it comes with a generously long cable, so connecting to devices is simple and you never have to worry about batteries or charging. I found is useful that it can connect directly into a wide range of products with no fuss and without them having to be right next to you which is a win.

The sound quality is really good for gaming and music still sounds enjoyable, which isn’t always the case with a gaming headset. When you’re done using the headset, the earcups fold flat, so it’s easy to slip into a bag without taking up much space.

The boom microphone has a lovely clear quality sound to it so doesn’t appear to require any physical adjustments and the mute button is well placed on the left ear piece. It’s a really good addition to my home setup.

A literal breath of fresh Air...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Headphones and headsets are funny things. In many ways, they are the absolute perfect way to listen to audio. The sound is highly controlled, and typical variables that ruin acoustic performance are minimised.

They consistently perform at their best because randomly shaped rooms—which create chaotic sound reflections—are completely eliminated. Sound only bounces where it is meant to bounce: directly into your ears! And fortunately, human ears are more or less the same shape and size. Mostly.

    So far, so good.

However, headphones can bring on severe listening fatigue. Yes, it’s a real thing. It happens when a headset is:

    • Too heavy
    • Poorly balanced
    • Sealed too tightly around your skull

Add in active noise cancelling, and lengthy gaming sessions can quickly become uncomfortable, isolating, and borderline claustrophobic. These are known as closed-back headphones, which trap sound inside to prevent leakage while aggressively blocking out the outside world.

Listening fatigue is a massive problem for us gamers. We all know the lie: "I’ll just jump on the PlayStation for five minutes..." only to snap out of a trance four hours later. Modern games put as much budget into audio detail as they do visuals. Because audio detail gives you a competitive advantage, and let's face it—gamers love an advantage.

This is where the Sony INZONE H6 Air makes a massive difference. They are open-back headphones. They are designed specifically to let the audio leakage flow freely—both in and out.

The impact of this open-back architecture is remarkable. It completely eliminates listening fatigue, and as an added bonus, everything you hear feels vastly more alive. The sound—and your ears—are finally allowed to breathe. It feels entirely natural.

Add this to the fact that they only weigh about 199g. That is roughly the weight of a takeaway coffee, meaning your audio will literally be lighter than your morning caffeine fix. Yet despite feeling like a cloud on your head, they still pack heavy-duty drivers that deliver thundering bass and crisp precision.

(Note: Because they are open-back, they leak sound. If you are playing games in the living room, your family will hear every single explosion, reload, and questionable teammate comment right along with you.)

These cleverly designed features combine to make the Sony INZONE H6 Air absolutely effortless to use. They breathe new life into marathon gaming sessions, and frankly, that is a breath of fresh air.

    INZONE H6 Air

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A gaming headphone that offer excellent performance for both music and gaming they have absolutely crystal clear sound, especially when I adjusted the equaliser the microphone is excellent, so light that it feels like there's nothing in your head I had doubts about the cushions, although not made of leather, the open back structure makes them very breathable, its my first time l had open-back gaming headset the mic is also decent and perfectly fine for chatting with friends in the game, it has all the buttons on one side of the headphones, like you do nowadays and you can’t miss the mute button. They is also a volume wheel, adjustable head band and a really long lead to connect to a gaming controller. All round I was very surprised how good they sound especially after adding a custom equaliser setting.

  12. Arvosana 5/5

Great gaming headset at a great price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Design

The H6 Air are, frankly, beautiful. They have a modern design, I wouldn’t call it sleek, but neither are they bulky. The exposure of the pressure band gives them an industrial-chic style. I’m not normally one for industrial design, but this has been done so tastefully, that I can’t not like the design. The open-back design of the drivers is not only functional, but contributes to this industry-chic styling. This whole style is driven home by the air traffic controller style microphone boom completes the design whilst being very functional.

    Features

The H6 Air are a wired gaming headset which are fully compatible with 360 Spatial Audio in gaming through the use of PlayStation’s Tempest 3D AudioTech and Microsoft Spatial Sound. The only drawback of this, is you have to use the included USB-C DAC to enable it. It would be a far better user experience if (only for PlayStation optimisation alone) you could plug the headset directly into a DualSense controller and it was compatible like that; giving players the freedom to sit back further from the console in comfort and play. Though I do understand that space is a premium in the DualSense, so this may be difficult to include a separate DAC in the controller too. It’s not essential as the effect of Spatial Audio/Tempest 3D AudioTech is subtle, but definitely helps with immersion and can even help improve performance in some multiplayer scenarios (hearing the direction from which another player is approaching for example). In the interest of full disclosure, I was not able to test these with a PC or Xbox to trial it against Tempest to see if there were any performance differences.

The H6 Air features an adjustable fabric headband which is locked in place, on both sides, by buttons which must be pressed to adjust size. I think this is a nice touch as it means they won’t accidentally change sizing. The microphone boom is removable, but be ware that it only fully slots in a specific orientation, though there are markers/guiders to show you in which orientation it should sit properly. There is a volume wheel and microphone mute physical switch on the left ear cup too. The supplied cable is a good length for PC gaming, less so for sofa gaming on a PS5 in a ‘typical’ living room size and setup in the UK. From my own experience an extra 25cm of length of cable would have been comfortable. As it is, I had to sit leaned forward to game - not a problem for a quick 20 minute gaming session, but when doing big AAA story intensive games (Ghost of Yotei, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn etc.) where gaming sessions can easily stretch beyond 2 hours, sitting like that would not only become uncomfortable but could lead to stiff necks and backs etc. The good news is that they are so light, that if you’re sitting comfortably without stretching the cable, you could wear these for hours and other than your ears getting a little warm, you won’t feel a thing, except the emotions caused by the sound.

    Sound Quality

I could sum this section of the review quickly: 10/10. No notes. But for a bit of detail, the open back design achieves its aim and really opens up the soundstage. The acoustic quality is gratifying across all frequency ranges (bass, mids and treble) with the separation between the mids and treble just becoming a tiny bit muddy on the upper end, but for this price point this honestly impressive work. In music reproduction, you can distinctly hear all frequencies and instruments without losing much (if any) detail and texture in the singers voices or delicate woodwind instruments (or high frequency) brass. The only headphones I have heard sound better - bare in mind I am not a complete audiophile, but do appreciate quality - are the monitoring headphone set: Sony MDR-MV1. These are open-backed, monitoring headphones for studio work, so that should give you some idea as the quality of them. So they are a direct comparison and honestly are fantastic. These are tuned and optimised for their purpose, i.e. enhanced bass register for engines, explosions and dramatic sound effects in games. This is a little noticeable when listening to music at higher volumes, but at standard (and safe) volumes the difference is negligible.

    Mic Quality

The mic is great for its designed purpose of chatting during gaming. My friends noticed the sound quality difference the second I joined the party. If you like to sing on karaoke apps with a headset, you will find that the foam protection over the mic isn’t designed to stop or minimise the booms from spittle. This goes for game chats too, but as you’re less likely to be belting out notes, it shouldn’t happen anywhere near as much, and that is the feedback I got from my friends.

    Conclusion

The InZone H6 Air headset is a great mid-range option for a versatile and high quality open backed gaming headset. With its included, detachable, boom mic with foam enclosure you’ll be heard clearly in all your in-game chats. The open back design adds an amazing amount of sound stage performance, which does give an edge in games. Combine that with the included DAC which activates the Tempest 3D AudioTech (on PS5) and you have some meaningful upgrades in your ability to track players or enemies in game. When listening to music you won’t be disappointed as the quality of the sound is great, especially for this price point. In my testing the only niggle with sound quality I had was a tiny bit of muddying at the boundaries between mid-tones and treble ranges. I would wholeheartedly recommend these to anyone, especially gamers.

Perfect for gaming, work and all generic use

Absolutely love those. Light and comfy those a re perfect for a gaming session, work or general use. I prefer open back for gaming and work so i am aware of my surroundings and not to talk loudly.

Mic is adequate with up to 12kHz frequesncy responce it does teh job well. Cardioid detatchable mic to capture your voice and not every sound from around you. Use teh usb-c adaptor with your PC so you tweak your headphnes in teh InzoneHub app, otherwise the app won't detect them. Can do EQ, dynamic range and mic sensitivity adjustments.

    Adjustable headband with stop clips.

Volume rocker at the back of the left ear cup.

Overall perfect for LAN gaming, no need to shout and lightweight so you won't fatigue easily.

    Highly recommended.

Taking my gaming to another level!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first entry into an open-back gaming headset, so I can only compare it to my wireless Sony PS5 one and my basic PC one. The INZONE H6 Air is a solid choice. It’s noticeably lightweight, so you can wear it for long sessions without that usual pressure on your head, this for me was one of the biggest differences from what I had been using for extended gaming sessions.

The sound is clear and open, which works really well for picking up in-game details like footsteps, though it’s not particularly bass-heavy. Thankfully there’s plenty of customisation on the PS5 and even more so on my PC.

One nice touch is the equaliser settings on the PC through the INZONE hub. It automatically detects the headset once connected. You’ve got a few preset options depending on what you’re playing, like modes that boost footsteps for FPS games, or others that lean more into immersion for single-player games like RPGs. You can tweak things a bit to suit your preference, which helps get more out of the headset depending on the game. There’s the bonus of Dynamic Range Control, which I find helpful. At present I’m adjusting as I go to figure out what sound set up suits me, but the ability to customise to your needs is excellent.

The mic is decent and perfectly fine for chatting with friends in game or via Discord and the like. The option to quickly mute, with the button on the left headphone is a great touch and is instantly responsive. The main thing to be aware of is the open-back design. I’m not sure if there’s any sound leak, but I haven’t had any complaints in that regards.

One of the biggest things I have been happy with is the wired set up. For a long time I’ve used Bluetooth connections and the cable is quite long providing good flexibility when attached to my PC via usb-c or 3.5 via my PS5 controller.

Overall, it’s a comfortable headset with clear audio and some handy sound customisation options, perfect for gaming. I’ve already chucked my old wired PC headset as it’s not even on the same level.

H6 Air by name and exactly lightweight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impressions are very good. Well constructed and very lightweight. Easy to put together and the sound is excellent

The open sound can be a little distraction to others at a louder volume but overall a great gaming headset. 360 deg audio really comes into its own on some games.

Very positive impression on how the headphone, mic and conenctivity and also worked with my friends Sony Xperia 10 phone.

My grandson who is a more avid gamer with his PS5 says "they are cool man"

Sony H6 air Inzone Gaming Headphones

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These headphones are extremely light in weight and have absolutely crystal clear sound, especially when I adjusted the equaliser settings on the Sound Connect app and using Spotify on my Sony Xperia phone.

There is a mute button and a volume wheel, adjustable head band and a really long lead to connect to a gaming controller. A detachable mic which is really clear and to connect to a p.c there is a type c audio box which connects the lead to the audio box and type c to pc.

All round I was very surprised how good they sound especially after adding a custom equaliser setting on my phone for music and I'm extremely pleased with how light they are, build quality is great simple but cool 😎

  17. Arvosana 3/5

Disappointing from an avid headphone user

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had really high hopes for this continuing on from the rest of the INZONE lineup that I’ve reviewed. I’ll start off with the good points, as I always say I love the minimal yet sleek packaging, Sony put efforts into the right areas and you can tell. Comes with a usb-c dongle, would have liked to have seen a usb-a just in case as additional or something you could purchase separately. Right from the offset when you pick up the headphones they are probably the lightest headphones I’ve had in a long time, so you can game until your heart is content for long periods. Has all the buttons on one side of the headphones, like you do nowadays and you can’t miss the mute button. As regards to sound, it’s not something you can take out the box and use straight away, they desktop app is pretty handy to use so you can tailor it to what you want. Now for the downsides, the sound is just not quite there, I’m assuming because of the open air design, as some have said it’s lacking volume but that’s to be expected. For me what let it down, is the clarity there I use Sony headphones all day everyday and there are cheaper alternatives that are your normal everyday headphones which sound more clearer, in regards to the mids and highs. I would recommend that if you are wanting this version of headphones you buy the H9 II version as they do come with noise cancelling as well. I can see what Sony were trying to achieve, however with open back headphones the norm is that they are usually top of the line products at that premium price point.
