The built-in light is helpful, and the device is easy to hold, but the noise and the fact that it’s corded can be a bit annoying. Still, for the price it does the job well.

It has 3 different settings to use to make removing hair comfortable. This epilator removes even the shortest of hair in no time at all. I have throughly enjoyed using this product. And this is my go to product to remove hair on a monthly basis. No more having to shave weekly has this product is epic. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Epilator series 4000, is a fabulous hair removal system/shaver. A very neat and compact shaver, fitting perfectly into my hand with stability and grip. I love how its corded so an even motion with no draining batteries. The inter-changing heads are perfect for different areas of the body and very easily removed and replaced and very easily cleaned. The shaver with foil leaves a very close but silky soft feeling on my skin. The epilator does take a little getting used to, but with perseverance has that long lasting effect we females require. The comb head does a good job on the longer and coarse hairs with ease. Great it has a light its that added bonus. My only gripe would be the flimsy pouch for keeping all attachments in doesn't do it any justice. A perfect female hair removal system with everything a girl needs for that very quick yet easy removal of unwanted hairs in any area. Very highly recommended.

I used this on my legs in replacement of shaving. I find shaving gives minimal smoothness as regrowth is fast. With the epilator, I found regrowth to be significantly slower - effectively like waxing regrowth. I found regrowth didn’t cause any ingrown hairs or irritation, which I have encountered with waxing in the past. The process is fairly quick and I could complete one leg within a couple of minutes. The unit is light and easy to hold, which makes it great for taking with you on any travels. The different attachments, such as the massage head, are useful with providing a variety of functions. The epilator, whilst offering slower regrowth, does not offer a pain free experience. I took one star off my rating as I have a low pain threshold and find it painful to use - it feels similar to an eyebrow threading experience - and for me I found that pain did not improve over time. I received the product as part of a product test and Philips has no influence on my review.

My previous one was rough on bikini area and sometimes made it bleed, but I don’t get it with this one. Definitely recommend!

I found it left behind some hairs but they're easy to find with the torch on the epilator.

Although I find it doesn't give a 100% smooth finish, it has definitely reduced the amount of hair growth I experience & the frequency with which I need to shave.

I havnt used an epiltor before and thought it would really hurt but it didn't there were a couple of bits that were more sensitive but after a couple of uses you get used to it. I used to shave and would forever be cutting myself no more and also I have noticed the speed at which my hair grows back meaning I dont have to do it every few days but once a week is plenty to keep ontop of unwanted hair especially as I have PCSO my hair grows back quickly. I love the fact there are 2 speed settings and the built in light which makes it easy to see the hairs. I also love the fact that you can change the head making it a shaver as well as a epilator, you get everything you need in the box.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After hearing mixed views on epilation, it was with some apprehension I started testing the Philips Epilator Series 4000 (BRE257/00) as a complete novice.

Not having a high pain threshold, I used the massage cap to begin with for a gentler sensation and was pleasantly surprised by how gentle the process was to remove hair. The LED light on the epilator is a great idea as it is easier to spot any missed hairs with this. The shaving head also included is good for any touch ups required. Getting the correct angle for the best hair removal does take a few times to perfect, but once you get the hang of it, the easier it becomes.

To sum up, the results so far have been extremely good in removing hair and leaving my skin smooth. For a novice to epilating I would certainly recommend giving this model a try.

It’s corded (so no battery worries), yet compact enough to grip comfortably in one hand. The LED light helps me spot even fine hairs and I like having two speed settings for sensitive areas vs tougher spots. The massage cap softens what can be an awkward tugging sensation at first. It leaves me smooth for up to four weeks, which saves a lot of time compared to weekly shaving. On the downside, it’s not cordless and sometimes I find certain areas more challenging to reach, but for the price and performance I think it’s a solid starter epilator.

The epilator is lightweight and easy to use. It can be used on both wet and dry skin which is an added bonus. The multiple speed settings and attachments are great also it comes with a little bag so you can take it with you on holiday / stays away, it is so compact. I would definitely recommend giving this epilator a try.

I was a little worried it would be too painful but I have found it more than manageable and the results are definately worth the minor discomfort. I love that I can also quickly use the razor for touching up areas too. The colour is really cute and it has a nice little bag to keep it all together. I would highly recommend it and I’m looking forward to continuing enjoying long periods of smooth legs!

It has different power settings. We personally really like it. The set includes two attachments, gloves, and a pouch. It's a beautiful color, looks good, and is lightweight. I recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical about trying an epilator because I thought they looked painful to use. I now wouldn't go back to my previous hair removal routine. If I could describe it, I would say it feels like using tweezers. Previously I used hair removal cream,manual razor and electric razor dependent on which area of my body needed hair removal. But with the epilator it has done away with all that because it does legs,under arm and even bikini area with the included intimate area head,which just pops on the epilator.The epilator is as good as my previous hair removal methods and leaves my legs smooth . It takes a couple of attempts to get it right but by the third attempt its a breeze to use. It also plugs into mains which is also really handy as its always full power with no need for batteries. If you are in two minds whether to try it, my advice would be go for it.
