[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try out the Brother PT-N25BT which is the Bluetooth enabled model of this label printer to create useful labels for organising various bits around the home and home office. The printer itself works well, and the Bluetooth app controlled label creation and printing is very convinient and relatively easy to use. The quality of the labels are also very good and clear, even with small imagery and icons which you can add to text - a big plus.

The reason I cannot rate nor recommend this is due to the following very annoying and hindering factors:

• Requires 6 x AAA batteries that are NOT included on the box.
• Has a plug in port but DOES NOT come with an AC adaptor to power the device in the box.
• Power plug port on the Brother PT-N25BT is not USB and requires an old style round pin plug but not easy to ascertain what size or model other than needing a 9v. This should be included in the box.
• Battery life seems to be extremely poor with 6 fresh AAA batteries giving me low battery warnings after just 7 labels printed.
• Bluetooth does not seem to remain on or automatically connect even when set to On in settings without toggling Off then back On each time the Brother PT-N25BT is powered on.
• Keyboard feels very cheap using rubber membraine buttons that are reminise of cheap 1990s-2000s mini keyboards or bank ecard readers and isnt easy to type on.
• Keyboard uses an odd layout that is not strandard QWERTY so some keys arent easy to find natively.
  
  

The lack of out of the box usablility is such a shame for this product. The bare minimum would have been to include either the batteries or an AC power supply to allow for instant out of the box use. If this came with either of these, I would be much more positive about being able to recommend this but with the old style power socket, no AC or batteries included, the cheap feeling rubber keyboard that isnt standard QWERTY layout and buggy Bluetooth I cannot recommend this unfortunately.

It was super easy, although a point to note for anyone is not to pull the tape before putting it in. Sounds simple enough but i should have followed the instructions properly. Once i set it up and tested it, it was amazing. There are so many functions and i haven't gone through them all yet but it does everything. I have personalised things like water bottles, storage boxes and electronics. I have done signage, and my wife is using it for crafts. It has different fonts which i've played around with and symbols which help and mean i can be more playful with labelling. It's brilliant, easy to use, and i would not get anything else. Well done Brother, keep it up.

What’s Cool About It

* Two Ways to Use It: You can just type right on it with its little keyboard – super handy for quick labels. But the real magic happens when you connect it to your phone via Bluetooth. The Brother Design&Print 2 app opens up a whole world of fonts, cute little pictures, and borders. Way more fun than just what’s built into the machine!

* Easy Peasy: Seriously, whether you're typing directly or using the app, it’s a breeze to get started. No head-scratching required.

* Real Keyboard: It’s got a proper QWERTY keyboard, which is a huge win. Typing feels natural, and I make way fewer mistakes than with those tiny on-screen keyboards.

* Batteries & Adapter? Nope! You’ll need 6 AAA batteries to get started, and they’re not in the box. Same goes for the AC adapter – you have to buy that separately if you want to plug it in. Kinda annoying.

* No Computer Hook-Up: Don't expect to plug this into your PC or Mac directly. All the design work happens on the machine itself or, more likely, through your phone.

All in all, the Brother PT-N25BT is a pretty solid little label maker if you're just looking to organize your home or a small office. There is a huge range of fonts and borders to choose from, so you can get really creative. I would recommend that you download both the Brother Printer App and the user manual. Once you have these, printing is quick and efficient via Bluetooth from mobile phone. Alternatively, you can manually type labels on the printer itself, but this is not as quick or simple. You will need 6 AAA batteries or a power adapter. A range of different coloured tape cartridges are available, perfect for all organisational needs !

The Bluetooth feature is brilliant. It paired instantly with my phone using the Brother Design&Print2 app, which is easy to use and packed with fonts, templates, icons, and more. I can design labels while walking around the garage and print them without going back to a desk.

Even without the app, the built-in keyboard and LCD screen work great for quick jobs. It’s super handy when my phone’s not around or I just need a basic label fast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When first unboxing this product I thought the size was a little daunting. I have smaller hands and can't just hold it and press the buttons. The bluetooth feature though, makes everything so much easier!

I downloaded the app easily, and it connected to the device without a hitch. You can easily switch between borders, fonts, clip art - you can even insert your own images

I would absolutely recommend this device to friends and family for an easy label making solution. My only caveat is it takes 6 AAA batteries which aren't provided in the box.

I'm looking forward to labelling all my files and folders, kitchen items, kids possessions. So many uses for this quick and easy to use device.
