Wanted a camera to replace my A9II for speed and better resolution. The A7V is faster at 30fps and with PreCapture has been a revelation for my wildlife and particularly birds in flight photography. The sensor readout is faster enough and it’s nice to have 33 mp vs 24MP for a bit more cropability! The focussing is better than anything I have used before & I can only agree with many reviewers who say this is nearly as fast as the A1ii & A9iii cameras! Overall a brilliantly camera for my needs and a great companion to my A7RV which I love for its resolution. I would love to try the A7RVI & I’m sure it is amazing but these two cameras give me what I need & share batteries and battery grip. Also I think 68mp at 30fps might me a little too challenging for my computer and storage management when the 33MP gives me a sweet spot. I’m a stills shooter so can’t comment on the video aspects. PreCapture is amazing & so grateful that Sony added it to this camera!

I’ve been really impressed with the image quality from this camera. The level of detail is excellent, especially in well-focused shots—the sharp flower image shows great clarity and color accuracy. The background blur (bokeh) is very smooth and natural, which makes subjects stand out nicely.

Low-light performance is also strong. The sunset shots retain good color and dynamic range, although shadows can get quite dark if not adjusted. Autofocus seems very capable when it locks correctly, but as seen in a couple of my flower shots, it can miss focus occasionally, especially with shallow depth of field.

Overall, it’s a powerful and versatile camera that delivers professional-looking results, particularly for close-up and outdoor photography. With a bit of practice to master focus and settings, it performs exceptionally well.

Having been an avid Nikon user for years (last was Z7II), I finally took the plunge and changed to the Sony A7V...... It does not disappoint, from easy to use menu's and customisable buttons, I was up and running straight away. The focus system is second to none, I now realise I should have changed years ago. Well done Sony.

I have been out with the A7v a few times and I absolutely love it.

Sony ILCE-a7M5 E-mount is a huge step up from where I was with a Panasonic DMC-G-80 and I was terrified I wouldn’t be able to manage such a new and powerful camera without significant help. How wrong I was, it’s intuitive, user friendly and a joy…so far!

I have upgrade from the a7lll to this a7v and it's a massive upgrade. I'm 99% photographer and my video once or twice a year. The images coming out of the Sony a7v are spectacular. Focus is these days on another level and the a7v is so quick to focus and once grabs the subject doesn't let go. The partially stacked sensor and 30fps blackout free is incredible, although I find myself shotting 20fps and using boost function if I want 30fps. Pre-capture too looks good and looking forward for a chance to putting this feature to the test. I have the Sony 200-600mm lens attached mainly for wildlife and as you can see by my photographs it's a fantastic combination.

I recently traded my previous equipment, replacing a well known brand and moving over to Sony Mirrorless after reviewing and viewing items at a local camera shop. Its taking me a little while to adapt and learn all the features however this has not put me off what I gfeel has been a worthwhile positive change.

I bought this to upgrade my A7IV and I'm very pleased I did. The 4-axis screen is perfect, the auto-subject AF is very responsive and for video, the dynamic active stabilisation is so good.

There are many other features I like but those are the main ones for me.

Picked up the Sony A7V last week and I’m genuinely impressed. As a dance, sports, and portrait photographer, this camera fits my workflow perfectly. Fast, reliable, and feels great in hand. The autofocus is excellent for movement, and paired with the 70–200mm f/2.8 GM II, it’s an absolute beast. Definitely worth buying.

I bought this camera a month ago and am completely satisfied with it.

I previously had a Sony ALPHA IV, and I can see a noticeable difference in image quality.

The ‘PRO CAPTURE’ feature is an important one.

The autofocus is much better.

In short, it was an excellent purchase.

I upgraded from a Sony r iii but have used a Sony 9 and Sony 7A before. I love this new look it’s amazing thank you Sony. It works like a dream I would definitely recommend this to others. Large files so you have been warned.

Loving this camera n the price tag I shoot wildlife and this is the tool for the trade

I have moved from the A7R IV to the A7V - the camera is lighter & less MB which is a good thing in my case. The back view finder is amazing - does venery angle you could wish for and you can turn it and protect it.

The menu is slightly easier to navigate - but having been sony for years - this was not a problem setting up my fav functions.

I am only on continuous mode low - as boy that is fast / and it racks up the photos taken - so don't need yet ! the full 30 FPS.

I did have to google which port and which setting to use to download and charge / downloading is quicker.

I did also have to google which RAW format to use for Lightroom as currently only one supported.

My previous camera was falling apart - so I am loving my new camera.

Ask a primarily videographer that also like to be able to take photos, the camera improves on my previous A7iv in so far as there is no crop in 4k video, better rolling shutter performance and angled LCD screen.

This is the perfect camera. I’ve had a lot of Sony cameras but for me this is the perfect combination of an excellent photography camera, as well as being great for video too.
