I’ve been really impressed with the Philips TAM4205M2/12 Micro Music System, especially for its size and versatility. It’s a compact system, but it delivers surprisingly powerful sound, with enough volume and clarity to comfortably fill a medium-to-large room. The speakers produce a balanced mix of clear highs and solid bass, making it ideal for everyday listening rather than just background music.

What I like most is the range of playback options. I can play music via Bluetooth, listen to FM radio, use USB, or still enjoy my CD collection, which is a big plus. Bluetooth pairing is quick and stable, and being able to control the system through the Philips Entertainment app makes things even more convenient. The Auracast feature is also a nice bonus if you plan to connect to other compatible speakers.

I purchasing the Philips TAM4205M2 Micro Hi-Fi System. 80W, with Bass Reflex Speakers (wow that sounds very technical); as well as an integrated CD system, and FM, USB, Audio-in, Bluetooth 5.4, plus the benefit of an Aura cast, Digital Sound Control, for myself as an early gift for Christmas. However, as it had developed a small fault and a replacement sent, the whole music system worked like magic and has done so for some weeks now.

I chose this all singing all dancing machine, because on paper it ticked all my boxes. The price was reasonable comparable with comparable music systems currently on the market with similar tech. For example, the design is sleek and compact, so it’s not going to dominate the room as it sits discretely on a bookshelf, as described in the handbook; the sound quality is fairly good, with the maximum volume sitting at around 32. For those who love to listening to CDs, contemporary or classical, I consider it to be a reasonable purchase. All in all, a comprehensive piece of kit for music lovers.

Back to old school, we have Bluetooth, CD and FM choices. I just missed playing my old CDs, simply relying on the music subscription from different music site providers. It also allows me to play my downloaded songs stored in USB devices and via Bluetooth with my phone while leaving it on charge as the USB port is available, so you're guaranteed to always have a good battery power supply. In its design, it is very sleek, classic and aesthetic, with grey and black colour combinations. It actually fit on a bookshelf, no joke for its name. It is really compact and space-saving. The sound quality is amazing with a maximum volume of 32. It offers a very loud, rich and clear sound quality. The two speakers offer a good sound balance with a clear and good-quality bass. The connectivity of Bluetooth with a maximum range of 10m is great. With a remote control available, you always find it easy accessibility. The Auracast is a new thing for me, which allows me to transfer the audio output to other devices, e.g. a bigger and portable speaker. Overall, this is a great sound system that offers a simple design yet versatile use depending on your needs. Highly recommended.
